Guest tap at Portland Fat Head’s
A: Fluffy white head, cloudy gold color.
N: Lemon, grass, lime, orange peel, grapefruit, cracker.
T: Nicely sour, light sweetness.
M: Good carbonation, very light body.
O: A highly drinkable Berliner with a tart twist to it. I like the fruit editions better, but I think this one is highly enjoyable and reminiscent of New Glarus’s version. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 12, 2014
GABF 2014 Rating (Denver, CO). Pours a pale straw hue, decent haziness, creamy bright white head sticks atop, good lacing and stick around. Aromas are a bit dank, dusty, dry straw, touches of cobweb and yeasty spice. Dry flaked wheat, a bit of citrusy tart lemon, tart green grapes, earth, mellow yogurt. Initial is lighter end of the fold a bit sweet with touches of grape, some gentle lemon, pear and apple. Some gentle fruit, mellow bread. A touch of yogurt, earth. Middle is a bit sweet, moving into a more yogurty and dry backend, touches of lingering sweet fruit, the sourness isn’t as potent as expected and after the initial punchf alls behind a bit. Finish is a bit lactic, dry, lingering fruit and firm yogurty feel. Ok. Gription79 (2891) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - OCT 11, 2014
