Paid $2 at Brewforia Meridian for the 12oz bottle. Pillowy 2+ finger tan head... the brew is walnut with good clarity.
Aroma is nice... A good balanced mix between piney/pithy grapefruit hoppiness and sorta nutty and dark toasty maltiness... Not really getting any cocoa/chocolate qualities.. pretty interesting.
Flavor is a damn solid PNW hoppy brown ale... hop profile mirrors the nose.... good bitter bite is tempered by the bigger/diverse maltiness... the finish lingers forever ping-ponging back and forth between citrus/resinous pine and a subtle sweet nutty maltiness.
Body is medium/light... small bubble carbonation lends to a bit of a creamy mouthfeel.
Probably the best American Brown (Brown India Pale Ale ;-) I have ever had. douglas88 (9192) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Another awesome bottle thanks to Toby’s goodness! Pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head. A sweet nose of citrus and brown malt. The flavor is very good: coffee, toffee, some toasted malts, rich citrus and low bitterness. Very quaffable and tasty. IndianaRed (4633) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 30, 2013
Bottle dark redish brown pour with a full and dense light tan head. Surprisingly fresh up-front hop aroma for the appearance of a brown ale. Woody earthy flavors, some light roast, nearing CDA flavors. Hop flavor is showcased but soft and earthy here as well. Interesting. Nice body. Pours murky dark brown with a medium-sized head. Good retention and lace. Bright sweet aroma even when poured cold. Nice hop-malt balance on the nose and on the palate. Definitely different than a Black IPA. Nice malt and no roast, primarily. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture and a bitter finish. Another winner. pinkzambia (1931) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle: Murky sewer brown color with an offwhite head and significant sticky lacing toward the top. Aroma of wheat, light hops, sourdough bread, soy sauce and grapefruit. Flavors are enjoyable - not too harsh, but a well balanced hop and malt structure that obviously favors the hops. Cardboard, a little dark chocolate, dirt, and some typical hoppy characteristics in the flavor. The finish is chalky and something akin to a malt shake. Extra point for uniqueness without straying too far from the style.

Bottle. Brown beer with a tan head. Grapefruit and summer fruit aroma with pine. Grapefruit and pine flavor with light tropical fruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with light tropical fruit. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - APR 30, 2013
Dark brown in color, clear with a thin tan head. Very good dark malts mixed with citrus and cascade hops flavors. This was a very good beer. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Mildly nutty with a bit of a roast background. Faint earth and mild resin. Fairly dry. Gription79 (2891) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle, thanks to the Boise crew. Aroma of toast, pine, citrusy. The flavor is pine, citrusy, toffee, toast. The flavor lingers a bit. Thorean (1) - Vancouver, Washington, USA - JUL 6, 2013 does not count
