Mediocre overall. In a genre and locale competing with the Jubelale, this falls flat. ryrpat (381) - Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2015
Very nice winter pine beer. Wasn't overpowering and very smooth. Love the darker copper color

Draft - Malty notes and barrel notes. Cloudy dark brown with a decent white head. Lots of booze, plum and some sour notes. Dry finish. A little thin, but nice. oregontarheel (45) - - JAN 24, 2014
IBU 37. First tastes from a 22oz bottle on the banks of the Klamath River on a frozen morning of Fly Fishing. Maybe the best beer memory of the year for me, aside from the ones in London. It's malty and nutty and hoppy and smooth and awesome. A perfect winter warmer

on tap pours a rudy cloudy brown, thin head, lots of lacing. Malty, carmel nose with some burnt sugar. clean clear malty taste, not much hop or depth but a good mid-tier beer.

Splendid hazy maroon color with deep copper head. Brown malt roasty nose. Feint nut dust. Touch of aged wine wood in aroma and more pronounced cab flavor with brown malt accents. Sour wood twang finish. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 28, 2013
So I guess this place have been hanging on to this keg for 9 months or something. Deep red. Light cheese but otherwise it’s in mint condition. Delightfully smooth but plenty of rich booziness and dark, dry fruit. maekchu (4024) - Hirakata, JAPAN - AUG 28, 2012
Draught at Bailey’s Taproom, Portland. Strong, sweaty aroma with some pears and alcohol. Light cloudy orange-brown color, rocky head. Initial flavor is like distilled pear juice; mid palate brings some good bitterness and a bit of the brandy; final is creamy, weak, and more or less balanced. Nice attempt -- but it doesn’t really develop into a cohesive series of flavors. hayduke (5619) - Eureka, California, USA - JAN 10, 2012
At the brewpub in Bend, Oregon. This draft pour came a clear deep red amber with an off-white head that left great lacing rings as it slowly settled. The nose showed lots of aromas, including ripe fruit, roast malts, and floral hops. Medium to bold n body, the mouthfeel is smooth and almost slick. The flavor is complex with a lot of subtle tastes, including ripe fruit, a hint of chocolate, and spices. The oak appears and stays with you through the finish, which displays a touch of bitterness. This is a hard beer to describe because it is so complex but overall the high malt show and good hop balance make for a real knockout of a winter warmer. Great beer. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 23, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2012 Tap @ The BeerMongers... Had minimal brandy or boozy spirit flavors. Just some hints of wood from the barrel(s). Poured deep reddish/ruby with a thick, vibrant white head. Incredible retention and lacing on the walls of the goblet glass. Overall it was quite soapy. Some grassy hops and toasted malt sweetness, and again with a soapy water, chemical flavor.
