3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice and strong. Good for putting you to sleep, if you can drink it fast enough.
On tap at Brighton Music Hall. Poured a darkish amber. Sweet toffee and alcohol notes. Strangely high alcohol taste for some reason. Something seemed off with this one. Drinkable but not overly enjoyable. ordybill (1758) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - FEB 27, 2017
Poured from the tap into a 20 OZ mug at the Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a dark brown amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is heavy malt with some biscuit and caramel thrown in for good measure. The taste is similar to the nose and has a nice sweet malt taste with some noticeable alcohol. Pours copper and clear with tan-orange head. Aroma is sweet juicy fruit. Flavor is sweet musty toffee candy.

Draft. Pours deep amber with a beige head. Sweet toffee malts, a little weird bitterness, and cardboard. Not good. superspak (5591) - Michigan, USA - JAN 11, 2017
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/30/2016. Pours slightly hazy dark ruby red/brownish color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, citrus peel, pepper, and pine; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, cherry, herbal, floral, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready/light roasted malt and moderate citrus/earthy/pine hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, citrus peel, pepper, and pine; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, cherry, herbal, floral, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light chocolate/cocoa, herbal, floral, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malt and moderate citrus/earthy/pine hop flavors; with a nice malt bitterness balance; light lingering hop astringency after the finish, but not overwhelming. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, bready/grainy/creamy, and slightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is fairly well hidden; a mild warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good american strong ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malt and moderate citrus/earthy/pine hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the lingering hop astringency. Really aggressive/resinous on bitterness, but still has nice malt balance. A very enjoyable offering.

This beer is on tap at whole foods in wexford. It is a specially noteworthy for the strong straight bitter note from theNobel hops. Bigger than Jever. Nice dark color as well. Cybercat (5833) - Georgia, USA - JAN 9, 2017
Taps barely translucent chocolate brown with a nice tan head. Aroma presents cloves, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon and toasted malt. Flavor adds bread and toffee tones, as well as some hoppy bitterness, for a spice-laden delight of an ale. Firm body offers strong fizz. Pray for snow - then stay home and crack open a bottle. katrinaez (2014) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2017
Really nice strong. Aroma is the only down fall. Not much to offer there. Color is perfect deep dark red. Taste is roasted malts, slight sweetness and a touch of hops. Mouth is full and covers the tongue. Tap MetalNHopHead (1976) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - JAN 4, 2017
For me, this winter has been heavy on American Strong Ales. There’s really nothing to complain about in that regard. Pray for Snow has a coppery brown color. Aroma is definitely more malt-forward with toasted malt and caramel. Toffee, chocolate, and coffee malt flavors with some moderate hop bitterness near the finish. Medium feel in terms of carbonation and viscosity. Balance is rather nice, though a few extra hops wouldn’t hurt. Kleg (256) - The Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 31, 2016
Clear dark mahogany color with a large beige head and excellent retention. Great lacing. Strong alcohol-forward taste. 7.0 ABV is obvious. Semi-creamy mouthfeel and decent caramel malt flavor, just too strong.
