Bottle: Pours a brownish amber and topped with two fingers of thick, creamy tan head. Thick sheet lacing. Nose is hoppy and sweet; floral, citrus, and fruity. The taste is sweet, faded floral hops, citrus, and caramel. Lots of different things come to mind… good malty notes, moderately bready, but more on the sweeter side. A strong citrus and floral hop presence, but its low in bitterness and resembles a barleywine or strong ale more than an hoppy red or any kind of India ale. Picking up a light herbal/tea element. Not so shabby. Strykzone (7557) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - AUG 14, 2014
12 ounce bottle from Hayduke that we shared via facebook chat. This beer is opaque brown and sports a nice creamy beige head. Just a bit of an aroma. I got earth. The flavor begins with a bitter hop forward zing. That stays throughout. Was this supposed to be a black IPA? Hop flavors bring big bitterness with citrus fruit that includes grapefruit. Other flavors I found were anise, prunes, earth, and chocolate. I would love to know what this was supposed to be. This is somewhere between unique and odd. But it was fun to try. Appearance has a dark ruby red color supporting a healthy head leaving fair lace. Smell has a sweet grainy malt aroma supported by light hops. Taste has a hoppy astringent flavor hanging more into the IPA range supported by the darker specialty malts. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - JUL 1, 2014
Very enjoyable red ale-oriented amber. Think an amber ale, with a heavy dosage of red ale notes. I like this one, because typically red ales can be "too much," and not overly drinkable. Here, you get the red ale flavor, somewhat muted, but eminently drinkable. Quite good! Melker (267) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 27, 2014
On tap at the roundhouse hong kong. Not very interesting. Some hops, nuts, caramel. Alchol wasnt very well hidden. Little bit thin.

From Craftissimo. Translucent dark red-brown with creamy thick tan head and long legs. Smells of nutty malt, apple, a bit of wood shavings. Nice aroma that's quite unusual. Tastes quite bitter with a very foamy body - neither as good as the aroma. Not bad though taste/palate slightly boring. Strange that Worthy named this a 'failure' though! Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Dark red-brown pour with frothy head that doesn't last. A bit of fruity hops in aroma with a nutty maltiness. Taste is bitter - effervescent and a bit tart. Malty finish. Not terrible but nothing memorable. 78samh (288) - Olympia, Washington, USA - MAY 26, 2014
12 oz bottle poured dark amber with moderate head. Good sweet and spicy aroma. Spicy earthy and herbal tastes with a bitter finish. Good for a style that is not my favorite. Frahmo (316) - Idaho, USA - MAY 10, 2014
On tap at the Boise brewpub. Nice reddish amber pour with an off white head. Super bitter with all the hops, nice finish that smooths it all out. poisoneddwarf (2620) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - APR 19, 2014
Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Aroma is doughy, buttered toast, pineapple. Pours hazy amber with a medium beige head that leaves constellation-like patterns of lace on the glass. Taste is very fruity--lemony, grapefruit, tropical fruit abounds. Not really malty enough to be a true amber. Good beer, though.
