Not very well acclimated to this style. I enjoy the black malts here greatly. But there’s some kind of sweetness that is slightly offputting. Nevertheless, quite good. Bookseeb (137) - Wenatchee, Washington, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Appearance is a very dark brown color supporting a healthy dissipating head leaving nil lace. Smell of the roasted malt with slight dark chocolate and coffee. Taste of the roasted malt giving it a slight bitter astringency with a light sour note. Moutfeel is medium light with good carbonation. 50belair (3680) - Florida, USA - JUN 15, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Clear dark brown pour with an off white head. Mild roasted malts with hints of chocolate. Good body and mouthfeel. BrewGoblin (632) - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, CANADA - MAY 29, 2014
Another great tasting 10 Barrel beer with a mouthfeel that wasn’t quite hitting home runs with me. This reminded me more of a Black Lager style than an ale and was quite slim in the body for that as well. It has a nice dark cocoa brown appearance, a small tan head with the smell of roast malts and coffee. Taste is similar with chocolate, wood and some mild basement dank. Just a touch too watery to really sink my tongue into. 78samh (288) - Olympia, Washington, USA - MAY 28, 2014
12 oz bottle pours a dark thin black. Mild Toasty aroma. Mild cocoa and coffee tastes. Kinda watered down but smooth finish. OK

Mild aroma of coffee, dark brown colour with a small head. Taste of chocolate malt, with a creamy feel and a slightly watery and a touch of bitterrness. patrick767 (4115) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 2, 2014
bottle at Ft Wayne tasting, Sept 14, 2013 - Pours dark amber-brown with a light brown head. It has a dark roast malt aroma and flavor. Bubbly on the palate, it seems like a mild tasting brew for the style but it’s okay.
My Bottom Line:AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JAN 27, 2014
Roasted malts and fruity edges delve into light acidity and bitterness for a drinkable but forgettable concoction.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A steady sheet of foam covers the blackened mahogany.
-This is not a Schwarzbier at all...
-Hop bitterness balances out the roasted malts in the finish.
Black body with lasting tan sheen. Black licorice, black malt, dark fruit aromas. Medium bodied with average co2. Black dry malt, black licorice, fruity flavors with a burnt malt bitterness to finish___decent.
