COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We craft our S1NIST0R BLACK ALE using a special German dehusked black malt that is free of astringency, giving the beer a rich black color without the traditional dark beer characteristics. You will notice subtle hints of chocolate with an easy drinking balance on the back end. In the glass the dark color may look intimidating to some, but don’t let this beer fool you. Our unique combination of malts creates a very light body and smooth finish.

A fantastic entry to the black beer market: a nearly perfect blend of chocolate, roasted, and coffee notes with an easy finishing body. Hops balance doesn't steal the show from the roast malt nuances that make this one a standout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Portland location. Poured a near black color with a small sized tan head. Some chocolate and roast.

deyholla (11606) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 19, 2017
Sampled from the tap at the San Diego location. Pours a near clear earthy dark brown with a tan head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a combination of dark grains, roasted malts and a bit of chalky chocolate. Flavor has a combination of sweet dark grains and chocolate with a hint of roast underlying.

Dark brown, medium head, cocoa and light chocolate on the nose, light body, mellow.

Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - DEC 2, 2016
Pours a dark cola color with a dark beer malt aroma. Taste is clean, crisp, dry amd simple. No distinct flavor, but light and smooth finish. Wish there was more complex flavor but a nice beer for the style.

On tap at Hop City. So tasty, the roasted flavours have a hint of chocolate but not much bitterness, great beer.

onceblind (9700) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 19, 2016
Deep dark brownish under a thin ivory cap. Dark malty aroma with a kiss of coffee and roast. Smooth dark flavor that’s got cocoa and a little brown malt with a biscuity base and a kiss of Java. Like an aggressive schwarzbier (note-I didn’t know this was a schwarz when I was rating it).

Had on tap at brew pub in Bend. Dark brown, almost black. Soft mocha smell. Light & almost fruity with just about no aftertaste.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2016 Wonderful, but have to knock points of for being called the Sinistor. I?d expect it to be darker.

22oz bottle 9/11/16 (Plaid Pantry-Vancouver, WA)-42° in Lager Glass-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste of the same with a bitterness and more chocolate on the back end. This medium bodied brew is darn tasty as I am not a fan of this style.

tightslice (1313) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUN 10, 2016
Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is malts, cocoa, raisins, fruited breads. Taste is malty, cocoa, bready. A pretty pleasant and accurate take on a Schwarzbier....maybe a little mild but still good.
