Immodest hop additions throughout the brewing process characterize this distinctive, amber colored NorCal fashioned India Pale Ale. With an ABV of 7.2% galvanized by a total of 64 *IBUs, we were obliged to create an IPA that would distinguish itself as immortal amongst the common, and with an unforgettable name. We believe we have done just that. Heroine India Pale Ale. A pint of help is on her way.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 Draft sampler pour at Face to Face Beerfest ( f22.org ): Still not what I was expecting from IPA, but eyes recently opened during blind judging as well. Brewing process has been cleaned up here, I suppose. Slight lemony with green onion on molasses & sassafrass, and sweet malt aroma. All this present and balanced in flavor, along with bitter hop flavors that are pronounced but not coarse (along lines of green onion and tire) Medium-lean. Clean finish. Appears amber with eighth-inch linen head of tightest bubbles. I think its a neutral ale yeast with complexity from malt bill. I like to support local, and I like the label artwork. This sample pour was muddy apricot colored with wide halo white head. A slight malt aroma, yet disappointingly little by way of hop aroma, nearly a leaf-like note. Flavor is led by caramel malt and some earthy and pine hop flavors, and possibly British-yeast derived earthy tones. Medium bodied, a bit sweet, without a drying out in finish.

Draught at SF Soma Streat Food Park with Gary whilst watching the final election debate. Heavy grapefruit and lime pith. Quite strong bitterness, moderate plastic, lime leaves, faintly grassy, light peppery malt. Body is bitter, medium, a little bit frothy. Not bad but I feel like Ive had many IPAs that taste like this.

22 oz. bottle shared by the brewer himself. Thanks again! Pours a cloudy orange color with a moderate off-white head. Big, fresh hoppy nose, with citrus zest, herbs, pepper, grass, and some balancing sweet and caramel malts. Like hop pellets in the nostrils. Same notes in the flavor but with just slightly less pop. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a bitter, malty mouthfeel. This is a pretty classic West Coast IPA, as the brewer said. Hes not into the more recent IPA trends, and that shows in the beer. And its also fine. This is a really nice example of what its supposed to be.
