I did not care for this at all. The heavy rye content was evident but too much. Plus it had a bit of a tainted sourness to it. Couldn’t finish phaleslu (10992) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2016
22 oz. bottle shared by the brewer himself - thanks again! Pours a hazy amber color with an off-white head and some yeast floaters. There’s some fruitiness, mostly apple, underneath rye, caramel, and leaves in the aroma. That is tamped down a bit in the flavor but still slightly present. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a somewhat muddled mouthfeel. This may have been a few months old; younger and cleaner would be a better way to try it. Bottle shared in CA - cheers! Pours lightly hazy amber with some sediment and a big, foamy tan head. Bit of tangy rye in the nose, some berries. Light sweet flavour with bitter earth, grains, pine, toasty crackers. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Earthy finish with more bitter pine, some flinty minerals, grainy toast. Just OK overall. I wondered if this one was a little aged - the hop character seemed a little faded. VsXsV (4584) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 3, 2016

nicest red ale I’ve had in a while. Aroma is deep malts with a tiny splash of rye and citrus at the end. Flavor is toast and toffee mainly, with a hint of hops and spice. Finish is a little weak, but otherwise solid. beertholomeus (1814) - California, USA - JUL 26, 2015
