Clear, light amber with a little yellow in it. Vanishing head with one string of bubbles rising to the top. Fruity (apple) aroma. Very watery and lightly carbonated. Has a slight alcohol bite, maybe because the flavor is so thin, the alcohol is so noticeable. Some cabbage-like notes, maybe even celery too. Not very good at all.

Weird nose. Head dissipates immediately. Grainey, grassy, icky, finishing with a nasty sweet alcohol taste. YUCK!

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2003 Genesee, ehem, High Falls surprised me on this one. I had it out of one of those mini kegs. Dark brown color, malty caramel smell. I was impressed. Rich and malty, well maybe not so much rich, but did have a nice caramel chewy malt that I was able to play around with in my mouth without it dissipating in a watery death as usual. Not much more to it than malt, but a good smooth american ale. This is not a blond ale. RERATE. Ok i havent yet rerated this, but just putting this as a disclaimer. I must not be thinking 12 horse, what i tried does not fit everyone elses description. I will retry as soon as possible.

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), with light notes of apple, medicine, and DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Something's rotten in Rochester. Surprised this isn't sold exclusively in 40oz bottles.

Not much to say here. Wasn't a very good beer in my book. Not balanced at all, probably used Nugget hops to bitter it, and nothing else. My bottle was skunked, stale tasting, and just plain bad all around. I didn't even pour it in a glass, because who wants to wash a glass after having a terrible beer in it? Not much in the way of body, that's for sure. Thin and watery, not much maltiness in it either. Extremely un-balanced in my book. Find better out there, gang.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2003 Pale yellow in color, with a head that hangs around like a convict at a crime scene. Smells like stale beer, tastes like something you would get at 'free beer night' at a bowling alley.

obxdude10 (2358) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 25, 2002
Not good, lacked body, lacked any kind of stand-out flavors, very bland, too light of a body, very little head, not good at all

lovibond (115) - New York, USA - NOV 19, 2002
"Remarkably smooth", perhaps, but it seems less so in light of the lack of richness and body, despite what the commercial description says. A little fruit, and a nice color, but wanting for many other attributes.
