Here is a father’s toast to his son. Brewed with cocoa nibs and lactose, Hunter boasts a creamy texture and rich chocolate flavor. Vanilla, roast, and caramel sweetness are met with a bright hop bitterness. Complex enough to pair with dinner or dessert. Suave enough to skip the meal altogether. A chip off the old block, alright.

Pours opaque coffee brown with a minimal tan head. Aroma offers coffee, chocolate, roast malt and subtle molasses tones. Flavor reflects all this while adding some cocoa character. Mouthfeel features good fizz and body. Hunt it down.

22 ounce bottle, no dating on it that I could find. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with a half inch tan head that stuck around a while. There’s a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like milk and bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, lactose, vanilla and a bit of coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some burnt/charred malt and dark bready flavors noticeable. I think the taste is sweeter than you’d think it would be compared to the aroma. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it’s a good double milk stout, I was looking forward to trying this and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Definitely worth picking up! $15.99 a bomber.

Can into a snifter showing oily, viscous, thick pitch black with no head. The nose shows a light lactose sweetness with notes of roasted malts and dark chocolate. The palate is surprisingly light bodied and lightly carbonated. Light lactose sweetness with flavors of dark chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, and a lovely dark chocolate bitterness.

Fantastic version of one of my favorite styles, no individual taste is overwhelming, very well balanced. Would appreciate very much if it was less pricey, right now it might be a once yearly brew for me.

This draft brew from a restaurant was served at room temperature and poured a very small sized head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind no visible carbonation opaque black brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium mild roasted malt aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of roasted malt and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

16oz can pours a muddy, opaque black with some foamy, brown head that faded fast. Nose has burnt toast, heavy molasses, black pepper, some tar, some cinnamon. Flavor is sweet with molasses and licorice and caramel, a little cinnamon, some condensed cola, some soy/umami notes. Full bodied, sweet, sticky finish.

No head, limpid near-black beer; end of bottle solid yeast. Chocolate, cacao, sweet liqueur. Ink, chocolate, wood, wry - especially in the finish and aftertaste. Faraway sweetness, chocolate-y. Some Asian herb, and incense, once warmed up, making it better indeed. Lean MF, bit empty despite some viscosity. Compared to the Vertical Series offshoots, not very interesting, bit poor. Thanks for sharing, guys!
