330ml bottle. Big thick tan head made up of tiny bubbles. Dark brown tea colour with aromas of roasted malt. The flavour is enough to keep you coming back for more. Mild on the palate but good overall.

hawthorne00 (4073) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 25, 2011
Bottle, 4C. Clear dark amber, less than a coat of off white head. Modest aroma of caramel, plums, raisins, grass. Taste has firm malt with just caught caramel, hints of fruit, plain chocolate and a drying hop presence at the end that doesn’t quite register as bitterness. As cold as it’s recommended it’s not very sweet at all and the malt flavours are varied and harmonious.

Davros (3258) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - APR 6, 2011
Pours deep ruby tinged copper with a lasting head. Nose shows a rich mix of hops and malt. Big piney, resinous, earthy and minty notes from the hops, while the malt adds prominent caramel, nutty and toasty characters. Very nice! Very similar hop profile as flavours, but in the way of malt only the nutty characters continue to stand out. Really needs more caramel to flesh it out. Body feels a little watery.

Muggus69 (2673) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - JUN 2, 2015
330mL bottle from Slowbeer Very nice looking beer - deep amber, holds a dense tan head. Excellent nose; lots of resiny, piney, citrus hop, well counter-balanced with an equal measure of toasty, roasty, nutty, toffeed, lightly chocolatey malt. Full bodied, smooth, nice chewy texture, subdued carbonation. Delivers plenty of biscuity, chocolatey, toasty malts, with lashings of spicy, piney, citrusy hops. Bitterness is big but in great harmony. Couldn’t ask for more in an American Amber!

davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Bottle 330ml at Mrs Parma’s. Very well-balanced ale. Aromas of caramel, grass, and cola. Taste is sweet and bitter, with good length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Brown, cloudy, with a frothy white head.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2016 Baden Powell ontap (19-Jun-13) - Pine flower hop light malt aroma. Red brown colour, good head and nice ringed lacing. Nutty biscuit malt flavour. A bit thin but l guess it also makes it a quicker drink. Light bitter nutty finish and light caramel hop aftertaste.
