3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a golden orange color with a white head. Floral, resin, dank hop, fruit, citrus and biscuit aroma. Grapefruit, orange, melon, floral, dank hop and biscuit flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a hop and citrus finish.
12 oz., 8.0% abv version looks to have been canned sometime in 2017. Big nose of pineapple, grapefruit, mango, resin, green onion and toffee jumps right out of the can. Clear golden-amber body with lots of legs and a disc of meringue on top. Tastes of toffee, orange with the peppery zest, pine resin, toast and a touch of mint. Fruit Loops in the finish. Almost medium body borders on too much fizz, but ends up mostly smooth. Dry hoppy slanted but built on a sturdy malt base. Patrik (1037) - Amarillo City, - FEB 11, 2018

DATE: February 1, 2018... OCCASION: basketball Thursday... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... pours a hazy auburn body, with an active, effervescent forest of bubbles... the two-finger white head sinks to a clumpy cluster, ringing the glass with arcing, undulating waves... powerful resin and pine, with the peach, mango, and pineapple striking a fruity refreshment--haven't had the Ahtanum hop before (to my knowledge), but that could be part of the intense citrus... dank, doughy biscuit malts provide a balanced draw, though the jelly-like concentrate rises above the other competing aromas... first sip is smooth, creamy, and alarmingly not at all suggestive of its 8% ABV... almost evil in its medium-bodied mouthfeel... my goodness, this is a hop-forward brew, bitter and rewarding in its long-drawn finish... the grapefruit, bitter and puckerish, big and encompassing... a beer that fulfills its promise by mocking the proliferation of IPAs available while providing a unique profile to muse... without throwing platitudes, this beer makes quite a satisfying experience... superspak (6504) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2018
12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/23/2017. Pours slightly hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly warming 8%. Overall this is a very nice DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink; with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, never aggressive. Tastes like a classic C hop deal, even though the site lists way more varieties. Not very tropical. Balanced juicy/dank hop complexity; nice sized bready malt backbone, never overly sweet/heavy feeling. A very enjoyable offering. Capa (3754) - DC, Washington DC, USA - JAN 4, 2018
Light hazy orange with a white top. Spicy hop profile with some sweet background malt, some citrus, grapefruit, and toast. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Dang tasty blah blah blah. Have to describe as thick, has a weight to it. Layered flavors...citrus going to apricot. Somewhat hazy, so if you like your beer clear, move on.
