In a can at Andys, poured into a glass. Deep golden in color with a medium white head. Piney hoppy aroma. Orange and grapefruit notes. Caramel malty flavor. Grassy earthy notes. Medium bodied. Nice dry hoppy finish. Very drinkable. ManvsCity (183) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 20, 2010
Creamy and sweet can IPA with soft carbonation and a tangy finish. 12 oz can pours a half-inch frothy white head over slightly cloudy amber body leaving minimal lacing. Aroma is faint oranges and very thin butterscotch. Flavors of honeydew melon, fresh bread, floral hops, and kumquat. The expected IPA style hop blast stays hidden till the finish, leaving your tongue tingly and thick. potbeerjob (1343) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Draught at Rattle n Hum. Clear amber orange with small white head. Aroma is sweet resin pine all over with noticeable citrus. Taste is citrus pine going medium bitter in finish. Light sweetness at start. Quality IPA. Capa (3295) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - MAY 17, 2010
Pours nice and orange with a white head. Citrus and light floral aroma with some sweet caramel malt. Flavor seemed a bit muted and the bitterness wasn’t as big as I hoped. Still, the hop notes made for a nice refreshing beer. I like it.

Can. Pours cloudy apricot, off white head. Aroma is hoppy citrus, fruity/floral and malt. Flavor is bitter leafy hops, metal, caramel, and vanilla. Way better than the Monk’s Blood. chaz01 (190) - Miamisburg, Ohio, USA - MAY 16, 2010
Had this on draft at Sweeney’s Seafood Restaurant outside of Dayton. Served in a pint glass with a big bowl of spicy jambalaya. Clear golden color, thin head that produces lots of lacing. I pick up tropical fruit flavors in the aroma. Not picking up a lot of hoppy bitterness, but the fruit tastes again are more tropical in nature instead of citrusy. Taste like a fruit salad with pineapple, mangos and papaya. Medium bodied, good carbonation with a creamy like mouthfeel. Very smooth and drinkable -- goes down easily. Went well with my spicy jambalaya with sausage, shrimp and chicken. Tropical notes added a nice element, but I didn’t get a lot of bitter hoppiness that I would expect from an IPA.

Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma is caramel malts and citrus and floral hops. Flavor isn’t overly hoppy, which makes a decent blend. A little bitter on the finish but not to much. alebrewer (140) - Mentor, Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Very well-balanced IPA with a great hop aroma and sufficient malt to carry the 70 IBUs. Taste is great and drinkability is high despite the 7% abv. Highly recommended.
