Pours a hazy golden orange, little to no head and lacing. Pine, floral notes, hints of lemon. Balanced taste, both bitter and sweet. Hoppy, sweet citrus, hints of resin, grapefruit. Really nice imperial IPA. Gr0ve (2177) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 7, 2012
Golden cloudy colour. Small white head that clings to the glass. Earthy grapefruit hops. Sharp bittering hops as the beer enters. Soft maltiness, but it drowns in the hops. A little one dimensional perhaps. Papery and salty finish. Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Aroma of pine, floral and light citrus. Pours hazy yellow orange with a small but frothy head. Taste is bitter with nice pine and floral. Very intense and bitter. MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Nice orange pour. Aroma of hop and grapefruit. Similar taste with the perfect blend of caramel malts and dry bitter finish. A really well built beer. Ungstrup (37677) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 23, 2010
Draft. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops and grapefruits. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of hops lending it notes of grapefruit, combined with notes of over ripe fruits and alcohol, the latter leaves a burn in the mouth, before the very bitter finish sets in.

Had this at the Portland Int’l Beer Fest in July 2010. Colour... apricot-orange with no head. Nose... sweet, strongly grapefruit-like hops. Palate... cloying, sweetly coating yet bitter with orange slices, lemon drops, Sour Patch Kids and a long bittersweet finish. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 25, 2010
Tap at GABF 2009. Pours a hazy bright orange with a nice fluffy sticky white head. Aroma is very piney, sappy, sticky resinous dank hops, with lots of citrus oil and grapefruit- modest malt backbone. Flavor is orange zest, pine resin and tar, white pine sap, mint and lots of fresh citrus fruits- decent malt backbone- lightly sweet, and a resinous bitter finish. Nice! badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - FEB 27, 2010
Light orange with a fizzy white head. Huge hops aroma with caramel and grapefruit hiding in the background. Tastes of hop resin and more resin, orange, and caramel. Not overly bitter and reasonable smooth for what it is. alagnak (468) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - FEB 25, 2010
Draft @ the brewpub. Nose is just a torrent of pungent, resiny, dank stickiness. Cotton candy, papaya, mango, weed, light background of a wet cellar - sure smells like Amarillo, though not sure. Honestly - the nose can not be improved on. Taste is a slightly subdued version of the nose to start, sticky and fruity, with a mid-range of a tannic, almost vinous bitterness that’s more evident as it warms. Finish is crisp and clean, carbonation is perfect. Enough body for substance, no lingering sweetness or stickiness. Just enough caramel/biscuit malt to balance. Awesome beer. Damn close to a worldbeater when it’s fresh like this. Aquilo (651) - Berkeley, California, USA - NOV 10, 2009
Yellow brown and cloudy color with a creamy off-white head. Thick lace. Aroma is nice and strong with grapefruit and strawberry with floral notes and some hops in there as well. Flavor is mostly hops, less fruit than I would like. Some strawberry and grapefruit flavor in there. It’s supposed to be 100 IBUs, but I thought it was well balanced. Medium bodied. I like it, but I wish it had a creamier mouthfeel. Doesn’t quite feel like a double IPA to me.
