3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours dark opaque black with medium mocha head. Aroma is mild pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and a bit of chocolate. Taste is similar, somewhat watery body and thin mouthfeel. Chocolate dominates the flavor, cardamom, cinnamon, and dry pumpkin spice are there but lesser. Doesn’t taste like 8.2%. For my money, easily better than the accompanying Tripel, but still lacking in body for a Baltic porter. As with the Tripel, worth calling out the packaging - top notch with these guys. Really unique, distinctive, and fun!
Lifeless darkness, smells of cinnamon and other spices.. maybe some malt. Taste is strong.. I suppose it is of the caraway (which I am not familiar with).. some malt, pumpkin. It’s not bad. ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 5, 2016
On tap at SLL tasting. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is roasted malt and a slight hint of pumpkin. The taste is spices and cocoa with a touch of pumpkin. Medium bod, smooth, moderate carbonation. Steverus0 (263) - Shreveport, Louisiana, USA - SEP 19, 2016
Solid presentation in a tulip with light head. Sweet and spice on the nose.
Porter mouthfeel, pumpkins come through clearly, but not overly strong.

Can shared at Cafe Abseits during the Bamberg Jolly - January 2014. Cheers! Pours clear brown with a creamy, off-white head. Very good stuff, with some cocoa, light pumpkin, mellow spices. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Fairly sweet on the finish, with more notes of chocolate blended with fleshy pumpkin, and well seasoned with cinnamon. Nice beer. Can. Pours black with a thick tan head. Bready aroma. Thick mouthfeel with a burnt flavor tinged with spice, maybe cinnamon. This is kind of an odd combo and I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I think it might be better without the spice.

At a tasting, thanks, smallish creamy head, opaque very dark brown color, aroma of sesame, ginger, some pumpkin and cola, flavor of ginger, sesame cola and soy, feels oriental, quite sweet. Interesting and drinkable but a bit to spicy. DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 15, 2016
Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks troubles. Dark brown to black. Aroma of lots of winter spices, caramel, a bit of chocolate, roast. Sweet flavor with caramel, chocolate, lots of spices, a bit of bitterness. Medium-bodied. Not my thing. Ron (3959) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 3, 2016
Bottle. Poured black from the can. Large tan head. Aroma consists of chocolate, nuts, pumpkin and spices. Taste is sweeter than I expected with good chocolate malts. Pumpkin and spices are more subtle. Nutty sweet finish with caramel. Great! markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 27, 2016
On draft at World of Beer Westchase. Pours a deep porter brown with a tan head. Nose is earth, cocoa, chocolate, mild spice, and some plummy goodness with bits of yeast. Flavor is similar with earth, cocoa, spice, plum, chocolate, and some mild yeast with hints of spice. Medium to full in body with lingering fruit and chocolate. (can into glass) OK, maybe a creative idea that sounded good but fell short. Dark brown complexion with thin dissipating head. The flavor is is like someone dumped some pumpkin beer in my baltic porter. The pumpkin is intrusive and seems out of place. Not my thing. Liked the pumpkin Tripel much better.
