COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name is a tribute to the hop shortage a few years ago. An imperial IPA aged on oak spirals using Columbus, Centennial and cascades as the bittering hops and dry hopping with Simcoe, Ahtanum, Amarillo, and Cascades.

Aroma of Grapefruit, vanilla, light toast and toffee. Light bodied, slightly thick, deep orange color. Orange, light toast, light toffee, biscuit and vanilla. Light bitter finish, somewhat acidic, not too lingering. A nice IIPA with notes of Oak, at 11.2 ABV alcohol well concealed.

On tap at 21st Amendment in SF. What hop crisis? They sure were able to find a lot of those little lupulin bombs for this beer. Deep golden amber with a nice creamy head. Aroma is fresh piney hops and malt. Flavor is sweet caramel malt and lots of piney, citrusy west coast hops. Syrupy on the palate. Really nice DIPA overall.

On tap at 21A, pours attractive ruddy golden with a two finger cream colored head. Full, floral and grassy nose with decent pine and caramel. All come together nicely in the flavor with a dry clean finish.

I had this on tap. It’s a nice, fully-flavoured IPA that has plenty of body and falvour to backup the bitterness. It is darkish gold with a medium off-wite head that lasts. It has a lot of hop aroma and taste, juicy with citrus and pine, but this is well-rounded. It has a nice, warming, lightly spicy alchoholic quality plus light caramelly and toast. Although the alcoholi s noticeable, it is smooth and warming, and I had no idea it was this high in ABV. Overall, the flavour and body are full and well-rounded, making one tasty, drinkable double IPA.

Tasted on tap at the 2008 Bistro 2xIPA Fest. This IPA pours a medium gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is citrus and pine. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are piney and grapefruity. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Hide the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap @ 21st Amendment poured a clear copper with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, pine, orange peel and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied smooth and dry. Flavors of carmel, grapefruit, light pine and a hint of orange with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a nice off-white head. Nice summer fruit and citrus aroma. Summer fruit, grapefruit, pine flavor with a bit of earthiness and twigginess in the background. Medium body. Lingering grapefruit (a bit of rind) with other fruits and some dust. Overall alittle green and twiggy like many 3IPAs suffer from.

Draft @ 21st Amendment. Poured a clear gold color with a good sized off-white head. Very big hop forward aroma. Great notes of citrus and pine. The flavor was big in the hops as well. Nice citrus notes that covers the malt. Medium body and warming but it hides the alcohol very well. Nice beer!

As with IrishBoy, at the 8th DIPA Fest, Hayward. Not the screamer that I would imaging a DIPA could be, but still very balanced, and large. The 11% Alcohol was where????

Draft at the Bistro’s 8th DIPA Fest; Nose of piney and citrsy hops (lots); Clear amber with a big off-white head; flavor has citrus, pine, light caramel with a lightly bitter hop finish! High alcohol completely covered; Pretty good new DIPA even with the hop shortage!
