On tap at the BNA 8 party at World Cafe Live Philadelphia
Pours a deep copper color with a smallish off white head that quickly dissipates to a cap on top. Smells of caramel and toffee with hints of dark fruits and an earthy mineraly nose. The flavor is sweet with lots of dark and burnt sugars and fruity maltiness. Light earthy hop flavor tries in vain to cut through the sweetness. Medium to thick body with a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. Decent beer, but a bit big and sweet for my taste. Lubiere (13796) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 29, 2013
A lightly hazed dark amber with a very thin light mochta head. In aroma, smooth vinous malt with light licorice, not baf. In mouth, a sweet bourbon like offering with caramel, treacle, licorice, grassy British hopsand warming alcohol, not bad. reggiedunlop (3718) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2013

Solid, complex, English strong rayOfBeer (674) - El Cerrito, California, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Tap: hazy mahogany pour with thin off-white head. Aroma is soft with malt, caramel, and a slightly tart bourbon note as it warms. Flavor has low fizz with thick caramel , a subtle bourbon tartness, mild sweetness, bready toast, and a small bit of charred grainy bitterness with alcohol on the finish. Definitely one to let warm before drinking...flavors are nice, but straight forward, very subtle. b3shine (8804) - Indiana, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks good; a transparent copper with foamy off-white head. Smells malty and doughy with a touch of oak. Tastes like it smells, only better, and with a nice bourbon presence. Smooth on the palate. Solid beer. marcus (10150) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 31, 2013
On tap at Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours medium brown with a decent beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a full-bodied caramel malt flavor that is smoky and bready.
