Room 316 Tulip Hotel tasting with Ian and Colin. Clear amber beer with a good pale cream colourer head. Palate is soft and a little dry. Dry caramel malt, little lactose. Alcohol spice. Mild dried fruits. Finishes dry. Very dull and disappointing. Expect better from these guys.
Room 316 tasting at the Tulip, Bodegraven, 27/09/13 note the dutch sounding name! Barley Wine in a can - I ask you ?!?
Lightly hazed golden amber with a thin off white head.
Nose is bitter fruits, orange, dark toffee, light booze, grain.
Taste comprises bready malts, dark fruit, sugars, toffee, boozey do.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey heat in the finish.
This was a real let down, no depth one trick pony with boozey heat all over, pretty much bottom of the barley wine class! harrisoni (19159) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2013
Can at Tulip Bodegraven. I quite like it. Sweet but dry on finish. Nice fruit. Tasty. Bit too hot maybe. I liked it mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 4, 2012
