12 oz can pours very dark brown. Sweet malty and a little fruity aromas. Taste is superb! Malt, raisins, oak, brown bread, and some hints of spice makes this my favorite American-Belgian beer. WOW! and it came from a can. tsd08460 (1223) - Marshall, Virginia, USA - APR 25, 2015

21st Amendment Monk’s Blood is as tasty as it is hard to describe. I’ve had it in he can (Foodery on 2nd in Philly) and on tap (Race Street Cafe in Philly). It’s great! RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Pours a beautiful dark copper/slight red with a nice foamy head that disappears not long after the pour. Aroma smells much more of alcohol than I would expect. All of the advertised flavors come through beautifully without masking the characteristics of a true-blooded belgian.

cloudy mahogany pour. medium creamy head. cherries, cola, roasted malts. complex flavors. some earthy hops on the back end. very good for the style. wlajwl (7011) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUN 6, 2012
Aroma is dark fruit, malts, yeast, caramel and a hint of alcohol. The flavor is complex dark fruit/malts, caramel, bananas, bubble gum and a yeasty/sour finish. Sikash (240) - North Carolina, USA - JUN 30, 2012
Poured into a tulip glass. Pours a nice dark amber color with a light tan head that doesn’t last too long. Aroma is a nice clean aroma of banana, fruit, raisins, with an earthy undertone. Taste is also very clean with a little bit of banana, some floral notes with a spicy undertone. It has an alcoholic bitter aftertaste with a great mouthfeel overall. An excellent quad for sure. Strong dark fruity plum aroma with raisin and chocolate, slight roastiness, caramel/toffee, bready.
~Pours a reddish brown color with wispy off white head.
~Very rich malty flavor, chocolate, melanoidins, toffee, caramel, prune and raisin, dark cherry, pepper.
~Full bodied, with low CO2, somewhat clean sugary finish with peppery sugary spice lingering.
~Delicious brew. This is my 1000th rating, glad I picked this beer. Has pretty much everything I look for in a dark strong. nbutler11 (1267) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2010
ajm with the HOOK-UP! If we were monks I imagine we would have been stoned by now, too. Appears black until held to the light, revealing a garnet shade with a creamy beige head of foam that leaves plenty of lacing. Smells of oak -- which is plenty ironic considering how I just poured it out of an aluminum can. Great aroma of vanilla, figs, and pie spices. Tastes of each with added notes of hops on the mid and cocoa at the back of the palate. Not quite as earthy as I was expecting -- actually kind of Baltic -- but I certainly enjoyed this. The story on the can is the cherry on top. My head would explode if this was on tap at Papago and I could get a "monk’s pour" of Monks Blood. LIVE RATE!
