A bit different from the usual red. Has a slightly nutty quality, up-front bitterness with a lingering, malty aftertaste.

fairly standard malty, toasted, nutty red ale, with a slightly odd/conflicting citrus character in the finish that just didn’t quite mesh with the malt."

Decent red. Red orange color, with grey head. Not much smell. Taste is nice, like a brown, but nothing too interesting. Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown-red in color. Not a whole lot coming out in the nose, some carmelized malts. Flavor is light roasted, mostly toasted caramel malts with mild hop background. Meh.

On tap at 21st Amendment Brewery, San Francisco, 28th Feb 2011. Reddish amber. Resiny hop nose. Really good hop-led taste and finish. A nice red ale with a very American feel to it.

On tap at Rose & Crown. Reddish and clear in appearance with a one-finger off-white head. The aroma shows sweet malts, caramel and biscuit, with some nutty notes. The flavor falls somewhere between an Irish red and an American amber, with caramel and biscuit, and not much hoppiness to it, just a slight earthy note. Medium-bodied with average carbonation. Not very exciting but not bad.

Capa (3304) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - MAR 22, 2011
Red with a thin head. Nicely malty with a sweet caramel biscuit presence. Medium fruity hops round this one out. Pretty decent, I thought. (Draught at brewpub)
