2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Yeah, this one is kinda mild. Light flavoring, with very little hops to give it bite. Aroma is mild citrus, and more alcohol than you’d think given the %. Finish is malty, though not in a balanced way. Mouthfeel is weighty, though not overly so. Nothing special, but nothing terrible either.
Bottle. Slightly hazed medium amber with a decent white head and lace. Aroma leading with floral and citrus hops, balanced by toasty malts. Slightly bitter flavor with citrus hops leading and lemon zest in the finish. Medium body and crispy carbonation. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 1, 2014
"5 south pale ale, kinda light, but pretty unique in that it was bitter and vibrantly hoppy with low ibus. fairly flavorful and at least average...maybe better."

On tap at the brewpub. Not sure if this is the same pale ale I had at the brewpub based on all the low ratings I see here. The one I had was closer to an IPA in taste and character and was an overall great beer. jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAY 31, 2009

Grassy aroma. Pale yellow colour, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, citric, citrus, floral, grassy, bit soapy. Sticky and a little dry mouth feel.
Tap at the 21A. Pours a translucent amber with golden notes and a medium white head that laced. Aroma of light citrusy and floral notes, light caramel and bready malt. Flavor of the same with light metallic notes.

Draft at brewpub: once again, very similar structure to the IPA. Typical PNW hop notes, caramel, medium to light body, quite drinkable. Solid. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 20, 2008
On draught in San Fran September 2006: Light orange color, small head on top. Fruity nose. Flowery taste, an herbal kick in the finish. Medium lasting. AleDrinker (1089) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 16, 2007
Light hoppy aroma. Flavor is more malty. Mild bitterness. A bit on the bland side. Not impressive. IndianaRed (4627) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 14, 2007
Bottle pours a slightly hazy amber. Some bitter malt aroma. Some woody malt flavor but not good bitterness. Just not good.

Floral hop nose, pale amber color, clingy head. Light toasted malt body, late arriving but full hop taste with a high resolution bitter. Good hop flavor.
