COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You might not expect a Saison in winter. But the enemy didn’t expect Washington to cross the icy Delaware, either. Expectations be damned, we say. We’re sneaking up on winter with a boatload of bravado and this Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Dry hopped with whole organic cardamom pods, our Saison has an assertive spiciness. In your face, winter.

"Very floral and herbal, almost overpowering except for its lightness of body, and crisp, clean assertiveness. Good brew. Cory, thanks for adding this :)"

Canned. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a haziness to it. Small white head from a gentle pour. Aroma is lemon, spicy, peppery, banana, some clove. Flavor is nice, light, refreshing. Spice to it, with a nice mild medium hoppy finish.

Can into a glass. Pours a pale yellow with a fluffy white head. Not much on the nose. Light mouthfeel. Honestly, not that great. Not a whole lot of flavor or complexity.

Can at Crows Feet Commons. Pour is clear lemon peel with a frothy white head and good lacing. Huge herbs - lavender, cardamom and basil - light straw, grass, and biscuit notes. Taste is biscuit, herbaceous, straw, grass, lemons, heavy lavender, vanilla, white pepper with a slightly sweet and spicy finish. Light body with effervescent carbonation. Crushable saison.

12 oz can pours light, clear yellow with small head. Yeast and spice in the aroma. Tastes like a spiced version of the classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is earthy, clean and refreshing. This should be a summer seasonal. Great Saison!

Can to shaker. Pours hazy yellow, big head, some lacing. Retains a thin head throughout. Aroma of nectarines, lemon, cardamom. Taste is sweet with sourness from the yeast. Light body, high carbonation, slightly creamy. Finishes long with notes of bubble gum, plum, lemon zest and of course, cardamom. Not my favorite style, too much cardamom.

Pours a very light gold with humongous head (too much, really). Heavy carbonation; light bodied. Aromas of lemon zest, light citrus, straw, nectarine. Tastes much the same with a bittersweet aftertaste, most likely due to the cardamom. This is a decent summer beer. Nothing special though.

Full and smooth. A nice malty, nutty flavor tempered with some yeast and a bit of spice. A very long, drawn out finish. If only there could have been canned beers like this 25 years ago.

hopmelt (197) - Painesville TWP, Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2014
Pours hazy pale yellow, finger thick white head n decent lacing. Aroma big coriander right away, sweet orange, phenolic esters. Taste follows nose, a nice pleasant tartness mid mouth, slight noble hop presence. Mouthfeel medium body and carbonation, spicy bite, very dry finish. Overall very nice beer, flavors other than coriander slightly subtle for the style, nicely balanced though.
