You might not expect a Saison in winter. But the enemy didnt expect Washington to cross the icy Delaware, either. Expectations be damned, we say. Were sneaking up on winter with a boatload of bravado and this Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Dry hopped with whole organic cardamom pods, our Saison has an assertive spiciness. In your face, winter.

Can, at home. Hazy yellow pour. Aroma of cardamom, chamomile, funk, horesblanket. The flavor is spicy, white pepper, cardamom, orange, with some crackery grains on the back end. Crisp dry finish. A bit too much on the cardamom.

Hmm where to start with this one. I dontt like artificially spices saisons. Anyways, this one poured a hazy daraker yellow color with a white head. Aroma was lots of cardamom and ginger, light fruit peel and yeast too. Flavor was again cardamom, light vanilla and then lemon zest on the finish. Not very good.

Serving: 12 oz. can from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a hazy yellow color with a large styrofoam like white head. The nose has a little sulfur, Belgian yeast, and sweet cardamom notes. The flavor is spicy and sweet with heavy cardamom and a slight bitterness on the back end. A little dense and clunky on the tongue for the style. Short to medium finish. Decent.

12 Fl. Oz. Can. Poured a cloudy golden with a decent white head. Aroma of cardamom, other spices and citrus fruits and wine. Taste is quite spicy, mostly cardamon, some wine notes a bit dry but very nice.

12 oz can. Pours cloudy bright yellow with thin white lingering head. Aroma is big lemon and earthy spice notes. Taste is dry golden malt, with cardamom and pepper on the finish. Punchy and bracing. Easily one of the driest beers Ive ever had. Big Saison.

Draft. Perfumy clear yellow beer. Light body, finish lasts a long time coating the mouth. Okay.

Light golden with a slight haze, with a white head that recedes all too quickly. Aroma has a lot of spice up front, both of the yeast and spice-cabinet variety. The label says dry hopped with cardamom...not sure what cardamom smells like but Id like to believe this is it in spades, with an almost nutmeg and grass tone in the nose as well. Flavor is light and crisp, though eccentric with a full palate. Earthy spice and nuttiness with a touch of allspice and nutmeg, with a pale malty grainy backbone, gentle saison-yeast sweetness, and a lasting though tamed bitterness. Tastes very belgian, which means I dont know how to articulate the fact I enjoyed this brew.

12oz can. Pours a very pale yellow like a wit with a frothy head that dissipates quickly.

Something about a saison in a can doesnt feel right. This pours a straw yellow with a thin white head. The aroma has Belgian spice, some orange, grass,. The flavor has the same but is overpowered by the cardamon. Dry and a bit thin.
