Toaster Pastry is an absolutely fantastic India-Style Red Ale, clocking in at 7.6% ABV and 74 IBU. Biscuit malts give the beer a slightly nutty, crust-like flavor, while pale and dark crystal malts create the mouthfeel and flavors reminiscent of strawberry jam. Calypso and other experimental hops give this ruby ale a welcome bite, plus a few more in the hop back for a toasty-sweet aroma.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured an orange-white color with a large soapy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was bitter with leafy piney hops and crystal malt. The flavor was bitter with fruity hops, pine, caramel and crystal malt. Long hoppy finish. Medium body. Meh.

Slightly hazy copper red with a solid white head. Aroma and taste are both strangely strawberry jam, with a mild hop buzz, and english fermentation notes into the finish. $1.7

12 oz single can shared, purchased at Bottles & Bitters at Sloans Lake. Resinous, light piney hops balanced by caramel malts over a medium body. Decent.

12oz can. Pours red with an off white head. Very tasty IPA with a bit more malt sweetness than the typical. The caramel malt notes worked well with the fruity hop notes. Im definitely getting more of this stuff.

Tap @ Flying Pie: Dark gold color with a juniper hop aroma and a musty super hop flavor followed by grapefruit pith aftertaste. Tasty!

Slightly hazy Amber with a glowing rosey hue with a sticky ivory lasting head. Bright floral and leafy dank hops on the nose with a vibrant caramalt and red malt toastiness. Delightful flavor thats crystal-biscuity with some lightly boozy caramalt tones, with vibrant earthy leafy hops and a kiss of citrus piney tones. Beautiful balance and hop depth with pleasant red ale sweetness, perhaps also a wee touch of strawberry near the back. Gentle booze heat.

Can from New Beer Distributors, Manhattan, New York, USA. An amber/red coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, malty, fruity, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, malty, caramel and a definite strawberry note in there. I rather enjoyed this offering from 21st Amendment, wish Id bought more back across the pond.

Pours a reddish amber with a rich khaki head. Toasty malt nose with a strong hop character. Very healthy flavor profile. True to style, but at the upper end of the scale.

Tap atbStags Head not many ticks on tap today. Dirty brownish red foamy head. Nose is strawberry and sweet malt. Tastes of strawberry, other berry, malt, fruit punch, some biscuits. I get the whole toaster pasty thing but not something I eat regularity or particularly want in a beer.
