On tap at Pivo Söröző, Budapest. Clear, deep golden color with big, creamy, pillowy head. Interesting sweet-sour, ginger odor. Complex, grassy, spicy and herbal aroma with a bit sweet, parfume flavour. I can feel many herbs and spices with some berries too. Light sweet taste. Slick texture, light to medium body, average carbonation. Sweet finish with berries. It’s a very interesting spicy lager, but I think it would be better as ale. It’s worth a try!

Aroma; caramel, bread, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, forest berries. Look; big pale beige head, misty amber body. Aroma; malts, caramel, dark bread, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, forest berries, cacao notes, spicy tail. Feel; alright body, slightly slippery. Overall; malted spiced good beer.

Bottle 330 ml, courtesy of and sahred with JFK in Prague. Orange with small white head. Malty and spicy aroma. Sweet and very spicy flavor, ginger, herbal, seems like Becherovka mixed with beer. May be an interesting experiment but I really disliked it.

(Bottle) Amber colour with lasting, frothy, beige head. Fruity, spicy nose with caramel, bread, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom and hints of juniper berries. Malty, spicy taste with notes of caramel, dark bread, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, dried fruit, clove, a touch of chocolate and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Spicy and tasty, could get a bit cloying after a while, but quite enjoyable in moderate doses.

Bottle @ Pivovarsky Dum, Prague. Pours a clear amber body with a medium white head. Nose is strong mixed herbal tones, caraway, pale malts, hints of caramel. Strange! Taste is similar, but with clove and anisseed as well. Light to medium body, high carbonation. Weird, but OK somehow.

Piwo bardzo specyficzne. O mocnym i intensywnym, a w zasadzie drapierznym aromatem szpitala i lekarstw. W smaku wyczuwalne ziola, przeroznego typu, podobne w smaku do Becherovki. Piana spora i trwala. Kolor amber, finisz mocno wytrawny i ziolowy. Likierowy posmak. Piwo trudne w odbiorze i nie do codziennego sporzycia. Polecam ciekawskim bo to zupelnie inna bajka niz sztandardowe jasne lagery.

Bottle from brewery. Amber color wit huge off-white head. Strong medicinal, herbal aroma. Medicinally bitter taste with notes of caramel. Bad experience.

mmahut (1858) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 11, 2013
Amber golden body with good head. Aroma is special, herby, first sniff is very similar to Becherovka, very sweet. Malty sweetness with bitter liquorish plastic like taste, very off-balance. Body is full with fair carbonation.

engelschalk (157) - Trnava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - FEB 26, 2013
Whisky colour, nice white head. Cinnamon and cardamom aroma. Flavour of cinnamon, licorice, cardamon, herbs, sweet and with a finish bringing some hops flavour.

ElDesmadre (3630) - Mikołów, POLAND - JAN 23, 2013
Bottle. What a pleasant surprise! This beer feels like a regular Czech lager infused with two shots of non-alcoholic Becherovka. There is some malt and hops, but also notes of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, coriander and honey. The beer is rather dry with a very dry finish, where the hops go hand in hand with the herbs to provide an underlined bitterness. This is supposed to be a "beer aperitif" and it works very well.
