Sampled at UCBC Wolpertinger 2013 - Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has lots of chocolate, smooth roast and some coffee. It has a medium smooth body with a light amount of carbonation. Sampled on tap at the 2nd annual Urban Chestnut Wolpertinger party in a dimple mug. It poured an opaque, very dark brown colour, red hue at the edges, with fluffy, long-lasting beige foam and lots of lace. Perfect appearance. Aromas of malt, roasty grains, coffee, chocolate, toast. Flavour was just as good and complex: bready, tart, toasty, hints of plums, raisins, black coffee and dark chocolate again. Utterly delicious. Medium body and carbonation, chewy mouthfeel, lingering multilayered bittersweet aftertaste. Definitely another highlight of the event. Bottle @ B.R.A.D. Fest, courtesy of jcnielsen. Possibly infected, super bubbly head. Pours a brown appearance with a huge brown head. Spicy, toasted coffee, light chocolate, a touch fruity aroma. (750ml bottle thanks to mora2000) clear deep brown, lasting dark tan head and nice lacing. Nose of cream, milk chocolate, chalk. Taste is very dry, milk chocolate, dry as hell, very well carbonated. Nice for 5%.

Tap at ITAP-Soulard June 2012-pours dark brown with a small kacki soapy head with various bubble sizes and mild carbonation. nose is somewhat nutty, milky, malted milk balls and anise. flavors are alite with hints of woody malt flavors. hmm, kind of different here. a very dry finish not much going on though however. a decent beer in the lines of a lite stout yet kind of odd. fairly bitter baking chocolate and earthy hops long into the finish. not a bad beer albeit somewhat unusual. thegreenrooster (4373) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of chocolate and roasted malt with a little coffe in there. Flavor is a little less intense. Still get a decent roasted malt with some chocolate milk and coffee but its a bit watery for my liking.
