Salmoniform (1281) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - APR 19, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Clear brownish red hue with tan head. Aroma is barnyard funk, raisins, straw, pepper. Mouthfeel is thin with a light body and average carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with an acidic following and dry finish. Overall this was interesting but nothing impressive. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 7, 2014
Bottle. Pours a hazy brown color with white head. Spicy, nutty, fruity, malty aromas. Yeasty, nutty, dark fruit, dirty flavors. Definitely not a great beer. ryanfolty (2655) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 5, 2014
February 5, 2014 on tap at iTap. Brown pour with some head and lacing. Aroma was yeast, fruit and spice. Taste was consistent with aroma, but also had some malt. Fairly well balanced except for the finish where the spice / peppercorn dominates. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - JAN 6, 2014
1/6/2014. On tap. Cloudy light brown with a creamy tan head. Malty aromas with spicy notes. The peppercorn doesn’t show a lot, and it’s not as tart as other saisons, but definitely an interesting variant. vyvvy (6835) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Pours deep brown with a dense soapy tan head. The aroma has dark fruit, nuttiness, berries and saison fruity/earthy yeast. It has a medium crisp body with lots of prickly carbonation. The flavor begins with molasses, nuttiness, fruit juice, spices, mustiness, toasty malt and earthy yeastiness. The finis shows more peppercorn and dirtiness (in a good way). Once again, it is a sold saison from 2nd Shift.
