COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Armandí4 Winter Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. Heís in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each seasonís geuze has an unique and different blend.

Bottle shared by Levi and Tim, huge thanks for sharing this! Cloudy dark golden pour. Great carbonation still. Aroma is huge funk. Taste is amazing, nice funk with the fruit. Just amazing!

Aroma is nice with some light citrus notes. Medium light herbal notes with a light mint note. Some light stone fruit character and a bit of oak notes. Pours a hazy, golden copper color with a very large, white head that shows good retention as it recedes to the edges. Medium light lacing and small legs. About as dark as Herfst. Flavor is nice with a good herbal character. Light citrus notes with a touch of stone fruit. Good oak notes. Nice funk with good earthiness and herbal notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high to high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer with great herbal and citrus notes. Probably my second favorite season but its very close to Herfst.

750 ml bottle sampled December 2015. Unclear orange body with a fine white head. Wonderful aroma with smooth and delicate farmhouse, leather, acidic fruit and barnyard. Similar smoothness in flavor, itís a classic Geuze, still remarkable smooth and balanced. It tastes better than the three others, but that must be seen in the context that they were tasted freshly.

Bottle split at the Armand Seasons mini tasting, 01/12/15. Hazed rich amber with a decent beige covering that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is big wood must, spice, acidic tones, funk, damp hay, wet labrador towel, tarte fruit. Taste comprises funk, bitter citric shreds, acidic rise, grandads shed, musty wood, dank tones, pissy citrics. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid geueze, ageing well, but probably my least favourite of the series, decent none the less.

750, capped. Thanks, M! Pours a hazy medium amber-orange with a loose white head that billows and settles. Tangy citric nose, soft funk, very balanced. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Funky, lemony mid palate, very beautifully coherent and integrated. Long mild finish.

750 mL bottle. Bottled 4/22/2010. Unknown original review date. Big head, orange body. Hazy. A little bit of lacing and brief retention. Smell is mild citrus. Acidic lemon and a medium funk. Less intense than the others. Taste is really tart. Similar to Zomer in itís acidity. A little vinegar. This one has the herbal notes again, but less so than the Zomer. Puckering finish. Not as dry, but still quite sour. Less complex. Medium carbonation. Still a good gueuze, but the least impressive of the four. Feels like the flavors could go wrong at any moment, but it stays the course.

Perfekt avrundad syra! Citrus och grapefrukt finns där (svagt jordgubbe). Stall, spannmål och vete. Delikat och läskande. Perfekt efter århundradets lyxmiddag på Savoy.

Strongest mouthfeel impact. Reddish colour with light head. Tart side of vinegar like raspberry.
