Armand’4 Winter Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy amber with a lacing off-white head. Again a heavy and violent carbonation with a shooting cork. Interesting aroma, almost bonbonish with the Brett being fairly downplayed. Medium body, sweetish overripe fruit, even a little caramel with the Brett and funky tartness coming in late. Ends tart and sulphuropus. 080512

Bottle shared with the Kernel crew. Hazy amber beer, good pale cream - tan head. Light crisp palate. Mild sourness (this is a lot sweeter then the Herfst). Mild earthy wood. Trace of lacto. Lemon citrus with a little herby spice. This is much more like it, very drinkable.
