COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Armand’4 Winter Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

of the 4 seasons I think this is clearly one of the weakest ones, but its still better than 90% of the gueze out there, the funk doesn’t come across as balanced, didn’t taste immediately ready to drink like the others

Cloudy dull light amber color, flat, carbonation is gone. I like the aroma, but it’s mainly cheesy. The mouthfeel is acidic and getting lightly oily; good cellar character, horseblanket, some orange peel, and astringency, but the missing carbonation plays negatively.
Still a very enjoyable beer.

2012-07-14, corked bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels, 9-4-8-4-17=42
Cloudy amber color, with good sized head, persistent. The aroma is fresh and very pungent, with dominating cellar smell, cobwebs, and lemon peel, and late manure.
The first impression of the flavor is about citrus fruits, lemon and pink grapefruit; the mouthfeel is dry and acidic, it seems very young and fresh, well carbonated; still, it’s full of Bretts, leading to an astringent and very sour final.
An aggressive and lively Gueuze.

Bottle - Very light funk. Cloudy gold with a small frothy head. Light funk and very mellow and some tartness. The mildest of the three, not bad, just not as exceptional as the rest.

Pours a copper colour with barely any head. Aroma of funk and cheese. Tastes very funky, with little acidity on the balance. Bit of petrol flavour too. This bottle is almost flat, but still very good. My least favourite of the seasons, but could be due to a less than stellar bottle. Thanks for these fiulijn!

Rating #1500! From Bottle @fonefan gueuze tasting Ulfborg, thanks to fonefan - june 24th 2016. Pours a hazy, golden amber with a big, whiteish head. Aroma has leathery funk, vanilla, oak, sweet, almost caramel malt, moldy, wet leaves, blue cheese, vinegar. Taste is tart, citric sour, dry tannic, light sweetish, quite some moldy umami, and a light bitter dryness. High carbonation and a smooth, oily but light body. Really good!
