COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
3 Fonteinen (Oude) Kriekenlambik is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on young lambic for at least four months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic (and possibly blended with some more young lambic). Fruit intensity ranges from minimum 35% to 50%. Aside some selected bars (e.g. 20th Anniversary of Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden), this sour cherry lambic is available at given times in the lambik-O-droom.

Draught. Dark red in color with an off-white head. Upfront there’s some wooden barrels, cherries, old cellar notes and bit of sour notes in aroma. Feels quite smooth and very well balanced though. More wood, mild barnyard funkyness and some cherries in taste. Overall quite pleasant and tasty one. More cherries appears towards the end again. Good one.

Hand pump at 3 fonteinen. Poured a deep dark red colour with a dark pink head on top. Nose has deep sweet cherries upfront, with even Some sweet raspberries in the end. Slight acid notes, hay and green apples. Dust, no carbonation ofcourse, but a very full bodied mouthfeel. Lovely

A: Pours deep ruby red with little fizz and no head.little fizz and no head. N: Overwhelming horse blanket with only a faint hint of cherry. T: Horse blanket again with almost no detectable cherry now. Bracingly sour. Lemon notes appear. P: Little bit of cherry and sherbet try to make an appearance before horse blanket and farmyard smells take over again, going into a long, lingering sourness. O: Always a privilege to drink an artisanal lambic, and this one is right up there with the best I have tasted.
