COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blend of 1, 2, and 3 year old lambics.
A true Geuze - a blend of 1, 2, and 3 year-old lambic, unfiltered and unpasteurized, and aged in the bottle for at least a year after blending. Refermentation in the bottle gives this Geuze its famous champagne-like spritziness. The lambic that goes into it is brewed only with 60% barley malt, 40% unmalted wheat, aged hops, and water, spontaneously fermented by wild yeasts, and matured in oak casks.

Green 37.5cl bottle: best before 9th Dec 2019. Poured carefully into two old ’Home Ales’ half-pint countryman tankards on 3rd Nov 2012. Almost clear old gold to new golden in colour, no real head to talk about. The smell and taste reminded me of good quality scrumpy, cooking apples, baking powder and Bicarbonate of Soda: very acidic. I actually thought this was OK and drinkable compared to others in this style. Try as I might, this style of brewing/bottling and blending still leaves me unimpressed somewhat. I want to embrace the idea of Lambic beers and Geuze but struggle to feel the wonderous excitment other ’beer geeks’ get from having beers from this stable or other Lambic breweries.

Butelka w Carpe Kraft. Barwa glebokiego zlota, klarowne.

375 ml bottle. Pours a nearly clear golden with a white, quickly disappearing head. The aroma is medium acidic (lemon, raspberries) and lightly yeasty (vegetables, cucumber) with some woody notes. Medium body with a medium carbonation and a medium sourness; pretty smooth and well balanced with a tart finish. The flavor starts with sour fruits, lemons followed by unripe berries, raspberries, gooseberries and ends with tart fruits and some woody notes. Dry finish. Very smooth and fresh.

Orange yellow body with just a few white bubbles. Lemony woody aroma with some grapes. Lemons right off in the taste with the oak and some general delicious funk. Lingering sourness but a clean finish

2 finger white head. Dissipates quickly. Hazy, deep amber to light brownish coloured beer. Aroma is barnyard, light soil, red and green apples and light lemon with a hint of wet wood. Definitely good but not that exciting in my opinion. Taste is white grape, green unripe apple, barnyard, lemon, light vinegar and light mint with a hint of soil. High tartness. Dry but not at all overwhelming, quite juicy actually! Medium-low bitterness. Overall: A lot of white wine-esque qualities in this Gueuze. Not my favorite style of beer but I definitely appreciate the craftsmanship. For a 6% beer it feels pretty big and filling, even though the fizziness and tartness makes it feel light at the same time. Good beer but not something I would rush to pick up again.

I love the complexity of this beer. It is sour, sure, but all is in balance and when you get used to the sourness all of the other flavors come up. Malt, oak, fruits. Great!

Aroma sour, green fruit, very strong. Smell of apple fills the room. Hazy yellow with small bobbles, and a hugh white head that disappear quickly. Extremely sour and acidic , with a taste of apple, quite unlike anything I’ve ever had. Taste more like a sparkling wine, then a beer. But without any bad aftertaste. Carbonation is spot on. Basically no hop taste and as powerful it is in the front of the mouth, there is not much in the back. Not my taste, guess I’ll have to revisit, when I’m more familiar with lambics.

W aromacie nuty winne, octowe, winogronowe, delikatnie skórzane i delikatnie drewniane.
