COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done.
The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other.
On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

Aroma is great, full-on cherries and tart sourness. Sweet cherry juice, cherry seeds, kompot. Fragrant and fresh, not very complex but exactly on point with everything. A very well made liquid.

jbruner (5002) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - AUG 23, 2017
Pours a deep red from the cork and cage bottle with thin pink white bubbly head that leaves light lace. Aroma of sour cherry and farm house funk, a hint of acidity underneath. Taste is smooth earthy cherry, hint of funk, tart back end. Refreshing and fruity, dry finish, not over the top though. Amazing.

Awesome funkiness that’s not too intense for a newbie. Lovely tart fruitiness and an amazing intensity of cherries. Very tasty

Drank 13-07-17 with Koen & Cat (thanks for sharing!). Nice one! You can actually distill the fruits from this and the sour is really there but not too sharp. Really nice how the beer can have such rich taste with such low ABV.

oberschlesier (95) - Kattowitz, UPPER SILESIA, - JUN 12, 2017
Aroma: sour cherry, nice, clear kriek lambic flavor. Taste: same as in aroma and unfortunatelly too much woody tartness in aftertaste. IMO it is tartness from cherry pits, it is a little too intense. The beer has almost no head. Corol is maroon.
