COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done.
The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other.
On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

Bottle. Etre Gourmet, I think. Couple of years on it. Poured into a champagne flute, because I’m a c**t. Clear, pale ruby red. Slim ring of pink. Nose has cherry yoghurt. Cherry stone. Old oak. Bit of marzipan. Bit of sweaty funk. Taste has a cherry stone tang. A little earthy and woody. Pretty much dry as a bone, barring a light fruity sweetness on the lips. Light and clean on the palate. Foamy carbonation. Bittersweet tang to finish.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2018 2018/01/17 - Pours a hazy bright pink-red colour with a fizzy, light pink head that quickly dissipates and leaves no lacing. Aroma is tart and sweet cherries, wood, barnyard funk, almonds, yoghurt, hints of vinegar and burnt rubber. Taste is tart jammy cherries, funk, yoghurt, and hints of wood and vinegar. Mouthfeel is medium with biting carbonation and a long, dry, tart finish. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.5 L bottle, shared on New Year's Eve. Pours a bright, unclear, red color, with a thin, fleeting, pink head. The aroma is sour cherries, dry leather, grass, and yogurt. Pretty dry, with a light bitterness and some funk. Medium body, with a hard, sticky, and dry mouthfeel. This is a lovely, funky, tart, and delicious kriek.
