COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done.
The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other.
On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

Deep dark red colour with bubbly small head. Aroma has lots of cherry, sweetness too and quite a bit of sour notes. Taste has lots of cherry, sourness is nice and punchy with some sweet berries too. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Hazy purple color with pink head. Aroma is bursting with sour cherries and cherry pits. Taste starts with sour cherries up-front, not puckering, very fruity and balanced with lots of cherry pit flavor. There is some farmhouse funk but its overshadowed by the intense fruit. Medium body with medium to high carbonation. Overall this is a very drinkable oud kriek, a good example of a true fruit lambic but not overly pretentious.

Bottle poured into a wine glass showing translucent wine red with no head. The nose shows subtle light cherries on a bed of light oak. The palate is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Flavors of light cherries, lightly tart, and a light vegetal tomato note on the finish. Subtle oak in the background.

Big lambic beer. Pours hazy ruby with pink head and lacing. Some sour cherry and some grapefruit. Bitter peel and some cracker. Not as complex as I imagined it would be but quite superior nonetheless. Bottle pour at Sovereign.
