COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done.
The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other.
On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

Deep, deep ruby red in color, bright red head. Aroma is extremely sour. Taste is definitely a Kriek-hits you square in the mouth with a fermented fruitiness that doesn’t turn too sweet. Normally I enjoy these sour krieks, but this one just made my mouth twist a little. Luckily, the decaying fruit flavor dissipates into a sweeter aftertaste, but...

Pours a deep red from the cork and cage bottle with thin pink white bubbly head that leaves light lace. Aroma of sour cherry and farm house funk, a hint of acidity underneath. Taste is smooth earthy cherry, hint of funk, tart back end. Refreshing and fruity, dry finish, not over the top though. Amazing.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2017 Tør kriek. Lidt flad, hvilket overraskede mig. Dejlig smag af sure kirsebær.

Awesome funkiness that’s not too intense for a newbie. Lovely tart fruitiness and an amazing intensity of cherries. Very tasty

Drank 13-07-17 with Koen & Cat (thanks for sharing!). Nice one! You can actually distill the fruits from this and the sour is really there but not too sharp. Really nice how the beer can have such rich taste with such low ABV.

Aroma: sour cherry, nice, clear kriek lambic flavor. Taste: same as in aroma and unfortunatelly too much woody tartness in aftertaste. IMO it is tartness from cherry pits, it is a little too intense. The beer has almost no head. Corol is maroon.

Vintage 2015 drunk in summer 2016. Oude kriek 750ml. Hazy dark purple with a good pink head. Aroma of dusty cherries, leather. Flavour is rich with authentic cherries, fresh taste, tart cherries. Light to moderate sour. Missing some complexity vs the Cantillon Kriek.

Bottle at Brussels. Deep red with no head. The aroma has notes of raspberry liqueur, almonds and wood. Sourish flavor with notes of raspberry, lemon, almonds, marzipan and wood. Slightly dry, soft carbonation, light to medium-bodied.

Mooi donkerrood bier met fluwele babyroze schuimkraag die snel inzakt. Mooi diep fruitig aroma, lichte aciditeit. Mooie fruit-zurig in de mond, redelijk volle body, lange friszure, droge, afdronk. Kersen, krieken, funky. Zeer lekkere verfrissende kriek. Topspul.

375ml bottled 2012-01-27, kept in a perfectly light and temperature controlled environment.

Pour lightly hazy rugby red with minimal foam.
Aroma is of cherries, medicinal tartness and barn notes.
Taste is of sweet and sour small fruit. Medium body and carbonation for the age.
Long nice sour and fruity finish.
