330 mL bottle. The pour is a dark black with a thin bubbly tan head that falls to a thick collar and leaves a good bit of lace. The aroma is interesting. There is a definite sour to it that I wasn't expecting. There is a light roast and a distinct Lambic aspect to this one. A hint of chocolate and a funk bring up the back. The flavor is not as sour. There is a distinct funk to it, but the chocolate and roastiness work well. There is a hint of sweetness and a light malt. The metallic bit comes through on the end. The mouth feel is a slightly thick light body with a sharper carbonation and a lingeringly malty and funky chocolate. It's really interesting. I like this one more than I thought I would. 6 4 7 3 13 Slotvinskyy (69) - - SEP 15, 2017

Czarne bez refleksow nalewa sie z dosc obfita sredniopecherzykowa piana. Wszystko normalnie tak jak w porterze z taka roznica ze ten jest bardziej owocowy i lekko kwasny na finiszu (zasluga dzikich drozdzy). Ciekawy eksperyment. Jerre (3823) - Waregem, BELGIUM - AUG 14, 2017

Bottle at home kind courtesy of Maakun. Black with little greyish head. Deep roasted dark malts, charcoal, sour wood, very dry and bit sandy feel. Light sweet within the roastiness, sour fruity and woodiness on the outlines. Medium body, bit chalky, grainy and very earthy, near horse or even cow poopy with soft carbonation. If I was tasked to come up with a name for this beer I’d go for Potgrond Blond and brag about the fertilizer taste on the label. Surely that wouldn’t make sense but I’d enjoy it so much I’d probably do it anyway. Very interesting to taste the similarities in this dark beer and the 3 Fonteinen gueuze. The horsey poo sweaty moldy earthy funk is definitely reminiscent of the gueuze but in such a different context it stands out very different and much on its own. A bit like how pebble stones smell good when you cuddle them. In that regard I’m sorry for those who try this as their first 3 Fonteinen beer. It’s like a difficult art piece from an artist who has your highest regard, but you somehow understand it’s a necessity. Anyway, after trying some of the other buttplug bottles from 3 Fonteinen my expectations were on the lower side and this is actually quite a nice and interesting drink. And the wild yeast lived long and happily everly after. THE END. MartyW (334) - DENMARK - JUN 11, 2017
