Had this one with my friend Roeland at Oud Daen in Utrecht, my new hometown. Very tasty in a unique atmosphere. This is what drinking beer must have been like in the dark ages. Drinking good beer with good friends. skortila (5852) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - NOV 9, 2002
Cloudy dark brown/red colour. Roasted malts in nose and taste. Interesting taste. Palate is malty. Definately better than average. caesar (7133) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 19, 2002

Flavor is moderate to light heavy brown sugar sweet and moderate sugar burnt & roasted malt bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden amber with a small tan and dense head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish to breadish. Dense malty, caramelish and light phenolic. Roasted, bitter and dry malty. Ends roasted and bitter. Christos (5766) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - OCT 23, 2013
On tap at the brewpub.
Light brown in colour with a huge off white head. Thick with very good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass.
Aroma is of caramel, with light notes of spices and stronger ones of alcohol.
Taste begins sweet with caramel, a bit nutty, with obvious alcohol. Some hints of chocolate malts as well. Light bitter on the aftertaste with the alcohol being much more obvious now.
Medium thin body, a bit low on the carbonation.
Overall an average bock, the strong alcohol taste ruins it a bit. Borresteijn (7053) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 1, 2009
On tap at Pint Bokbierfestival 09. I reckon it’s this beer.. Sold as Oudaen Herfstbock. Amber colour, dense off white head. Aroma is fruity, flowery like potpourri. Flavour is sweet, flowery, light fruity, sweetish very light bitter finish. Not a bock, but a nice beer.
