Bottle. Black, minimal head, tan foam, medium bitterness, medium sweetness, light body, thin feel, average carbonation, & astringent finish. ShaneJ (898) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 18, 2014
Bottle from Plonk (March 2014). Oily black, minimal light brown head, some lacing, roast grain, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, mild oak, medium sweetness, light bitterness, smooth texture, slightly creamy. Classic stout! mattyhennessy (376) - Highton, AUSTRALIA - APR 24, 2014
Hand pumped. Red tinged brown body with a tan head that is very foamy (from the hand pump). Light bodied for a stout. Interesting texture, however I assume this is from the hand pump. Sweet chocolate flavour with a slight lingering coffee bitterness. Very smooth with a slight smokey finish. Some dried fruit also. Very drinkable. Would havery liked it a little heavier Jmar33 (210) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 13, 2014
Bottle. Very good dark considering the abv. Strong flavours and nice mouthfeel.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2016 Dark brown. Thin head. Aroma has a bit of roast and a bit of fruitiness. Taste is light, mostly chocolate, hint of nuttiness. A bit less body and hop and you’d have a good mild. Re-rate in 2015 found it thinner and less interesting, resulting in a reduced score. gnoff (10713) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 25, 2013

As "3 Ravens Black Stout".
Clear dark red to black color, big light brown head. Sweet, roasted, chocolate taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterenss. Chocolate, roasted aftertaste. Sweet, roasted, chocolate scent.
Nice dark poor with slight lingering head. Subtle roast malts, coffee and chocolate flavours. Little thin a stout for me tasty but not as rich as I like. Tommygface (3) - Brunswick East, AUSTRALIA - NOV 22, 2012 does not count
A-Black as charcoal. Firm chocolate head that will never leave. N-Aniseed, chocolate and espresso. Licorice is a big player here. T-Bang on like vegemite toast. Oatmeal and burnt treacle. Slight peat (smokey). Lighter body that doesn’t overpower flavour. Simple presence with complex characters.
This beer pours so black you cannot see through it, its smells encapsulate you, and it tastes like a potion made by willy wonka himself. The unmistakeable taste of vegemite on well cooked bread makes you do a double take. It puts you into a trance and instead of putting the glass back on the table, you take another sip discovering more characters. I want a bigger body, but I fear if this were so I would not be as intrigued as I currently am. KeefOz (1873) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - JUL 8, 2012
Poured an opaque blacvk colour with a moderately thick beige coloured foamy head. Aroma was sweet and with subtle roasted malts. Initail taste of roasted grains but finished up having a very slight smoky flavour. Medium body. Smooth on palate. Long malty finish that develops a smoky/peaty taste. Best left to warm up a bit before drinking. Very good!
