Pretty good stuff that’d be a lot better if not so cold. Served with a smallish, tan, foamy, thick, creamy head that slowly settled and lots of sheeting lace. Color is an opaque brown black. Aroma is malt and roast. Flavor’s like nose, with good balance between bitter, sweet, and tang. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, slightly long, and very drinkable. Again there’d be a lot more interesting things here if it weren’t so cold. Still, good stuff.
This is, in fact, a wheat beer. Beneath its rich, dark exterior and cascading head, you will find a classic unfiltered wheat presentation fused with the smooth, roasty, chocolate-like characteristics of the dark wheat malt. With a finish this unnervingly smooth, even a black sheep starts to feel normal again.
Great tasting. Tastes like a black ale.

Bottle. It poured black with a smallish beige head and minimal lacing. The aroma was a bit funky at first but as it warmed it produced a slight wheat nose. The taste was coffee and chocolate roasted malts with a slight sense of banana. It was medium bodied with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Ronritter (652) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 8, 2016

Roasty, toasty, crunchy (a little grainy), malty and good. Bits of chocolate in the aroma. Goes down easy. Enjoyed on tap at Hops Haven -- adjacent to 3 Sheeps Brewery.

Pours a dark brown. Thin light-brown head. A bit of hint of bananas. Thin mouth feel. A tart and cardboard finish. Fredis23 (564) - Hickory Hills, Illinois, USA - JAN 10, 2016
Pitch Black, Big Foamy Head, Decent Lacing. Light Toasted Aroma. Toasted Malt, Earthy Hops, Bitter Finish. I’d say more like Killian’s Irish Stout than Black Wheat. Nonetheless, easily Drinkable and Enjoyable. This Baaad Boy coming from Sheboygan, WI... Pretty Decent. Worth A Try. AnokaBrewer (201) - Anoka, Minnesota, USA - OCT 24, 2015
12 ounce bottle. I liked this beer, but I would not classify it as a Dunkelweiss. It is more of a Schwartzbier. Sweet aroma, black in color, white head. Sweet flavor, caramel finish. scarletfire65 (1454) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 30, 2015
Bottle at home. Black pour with a big mocha head. The aroma is creamy iced coffee. Tastes sweet up front, with some roasty coffee and bitter cocoa powder flavors developing mid swallow. Finishes light bodied, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Smooth palate, but no real yeasty wheat or dunkel characteristics. More like a schwarzbier. pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is malt, sweet dark fruit, like raisins. Creamy mouth feel. Taste is sweet with a hint of coffee. Fairly quick finish but with both sweet and bitter linger. Seems more like a sweet stout. At any rate, pretty good. I like it.
