Draft at City Tap House DC. Pours dark brown to black in color with reddish highlights and a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark fruit, cherry, berries, vanilla, wood, light bitterness with a hint of coffee. I thought this was good, nothing over the top, very drinkable. Draft at Big Hunt poured into a highball. Pours black with tan head. Aromas of cherry, dark chocolate. Tasting notes of cherry, dark chocolate, woody notes. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, oily syrupy mouthfeel. Like this better than the regular version. nimbleprop (8468) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 12, 2013

Flavor is dark malt, lightly tart cherry, oak, dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation. drowland (8829) - Georgia, USA - JUL 16, 2013
On tap at Meridian Pint during CBC. Thanks biggirlpanties! Deep, dark brown, almost black, ruby edges with barely a head. Some cherry wood, dark pit fruits, dark fruits, and coffee/chocolate from roasted malts. Similar flavor, less woody, dark fruits and coffee/roasted malts to give a somewhat chocolate cherry sensation. Not bad.

Draft. Almost completely black, brown head. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, subtle vanilla. Taste is vanilla, dates, prunes. Nice. radagast83 (8137) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Tap Meridian Pint for CBC. Poured a dark brown, with ruby notes, very small mocha head that quickly dissipated. Aroma was vanilla notes, dark fruits, come bitter chocolates, some light notes of wood and some very basic black cherry character here. Flavor was dark fruits, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. Probably could have let this sit a little longer to impart a few more flavors. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Tap at Meridian Pint for CBC thanks to biggirlpanties. Pours clear, deep ruby looking black. Weak to no head. Nose is black cherry, some sweeter cherry juice box. Taste is prune, black cherry, milk chocolate, mild warming alcohol. Palate holds medium density, lower for style. Overall quite simple with no cherry wood spiciness or dryness that I was expecting. Fiancee rating: 3.7-3.8.
