On tap at Boundary Stone for the DC Beer Week 2014 Battle of the Barrels event. Notes say it was aged for seven months in a Woodford Reserve Barrel. Pours an oily black with creamy beige head. Nose has roast, coffee, mild vanilla, caramel, a little lacto sugar, oak. Flavor is quite oaky, mildly buttery, coffee, butterscotch, booze, a little lactic acid. Oily, thin, lactic fin. Cast at Meridian Pint. Very dark maroon, almost flat. Aroma of rich vanilla, dark chocolate. Taste is very smooth dark chocolate, hints of bourbon around the edges. Very rich, nicely balanced, and not over the top.
