hopscotch (11113) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 8, 2017
Draft... Pours black with a tiny, wispy, off-white head. The aroma is a hearty and fruity swirl of mocha, blueberries and strawberries. Full-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor features vanilla and mocha. This is super-sweet to the point of being cloying. Way to sweet for me and I’m a Scotch ale fan. There’s potential here, but I think it needs further attenuation.

Tap @ Tusky’s - pours pitch with a tan head that vanishes as it warms. Love the coffee beef jerky sweetness happening with this one. Has a nice smoothness to the finish. Nice!

DiarmaidBHK (4924) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 26, 2016
Draft at Tuscarora mill. Pours black with a half inch of khaki foam. Doesn't leave much lacing in the glass. Lots of chocolate on the nose. Nice roasted malt on the nose with a touch of sweetness balanced by some nice hop presence. Hides it's booze well. Nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pitch black with aromas of roasty malt and chocolate. Flavor is more of the same, very rich and sweet. Mouthfeel is silky. Sweetness hides the alcohol well.

Poured from a 1 pint 9.4 fl oz bottle. This is one darn good beer. Appearance is black, pure black. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee, and lots of chocolate. Taste is similar, with some slight hints of alcohol. Palate is medium, not too thick. Overall, a really nice beer, very drinkable, right up my type of beer.
