UPDATED: NOV 10, 2017 pours a dark brown in the glass. Instant aroma of raisins, figs and dark chocolate. Dry cocoa and woody oak on the palate. Good aftertaste of roasted malt and some espresso notes. Overall, a damn tasty beer. Thx to my bro dandman629 for the awesome hook up!

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall off-white head with a nice bit of mvement throughout. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malty flavours dominate with some good sweetness and maple/honey tastes and a rich nutty quality and a hint of molasses and even smoked peat towards the end. Aftertaste shows some grain and more bitter nut flavours and a dose of alcohol warmth with a nice bitterness from hops and the earthy malts. Overall, a smooth brown, considering the alcohol and showing a nice level of complexity throughout - nice to sample on tap! I sampled this sixteen ounce pour on draught at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 22-September-2017 for US$5,00 sampled at the end of my driveway!

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of sweet and nutty and chocolaty malts, some light pecans, hints of EtOH, and some dough and light bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. Boring but not bad.

jbruner (5274) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Pours a deep brownish black from the bomber with bubbly tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma and taste of dark malts, nuttiness, chocolate, and a hint of booze. A little musty, and a bit weird on the tongue, not bad, but not great.

MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - JUN 8, 2016
On tap at Whole Foods in Vienna, VA. Opaque, black-brown with a tan head and good lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, pecans and a little molasses. Taste of pecans, chocolate, molasses and roasted malt. The pecans and chocolate come through strongly--sort of like a pecan butter cup, if such a thing existed. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
