Spiced top-fermented ale made with spelt and barley malt, bottle conditioned.
Appearance: white, compact, fine and persistent head; lemony colour.
Bouquet: floral notes, aromas of exotic fruit with a slight citrussy acidity and hints of straw, hay and bread crumbs.
Flavour: refreshing, slightly acidulous (due to the spices), in which malt and hops are delicately blended. Quaffable beer with a medium body, although with more texture than other products in the same category.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Pours cloudy yellow with a little head. Aroma is banana, herbs, cough syrup, medicine. Light body with a crisp carbonation, still fruity, but rather short again. The carbonation drowns the flavours. Palate is short and sparkly. Nice.

Bottle @ Basilico Bianco Gallarate. giallo paglierino opalescente, schiuma bianca fine persistente. Gusto abboccato, acidulo, citrico, speziato. Poco corposa, carbonatazione intensa, debole calore alcolico, equilibrata ed armonica.

750ml crown-capped bottle with plastic-cork come with a free screwed pin bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Looks: Translucent light golden honey colour with a ring of dirt-like yeastsediments; One finger head and soapy white foam which last for 90 seconds; Minimal lacing and very fizzy carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant malt, with strong wheat and tartness, strong coriander, strong orange peels, banana, faint pineapple, faint dark fruits, bread, strong yeast, lemon and thin grass.

Taste: Mid to light sweet light malt, with strong wheaty tartness, spelt, orange peels, coriander, sugar, strong spices, earth, dry biscuits , strong yeast, lemon, moderate bitter hops and strong grass.

Body: Close to light body. Slick and crisp palate.

Mouth Feel: Fair malt in a slick background. Strong tart wheat and quite coarse spelt presence. This coarseness raise the effect of orange peels and coriander, which make the palate a lots livelier. Sweeter than usual Belgian White, with strong spices and yeast. Good lemon to round. Good!

Hoppiness: Lemon and thin grass in nose, a lot stronger in taste. Bitterness is fairly strong for a lasting, mid-to-high astringent sweet-bitter finish.

After Taste: Quite dry. Sweet, wheaty and bitter to mouth.

Comments: Like most of 32’s line-ups, this Witbier is bold and expressive in wheaty aroma, orangey / spicy taste with a strong hoopinness. I think the spelt factor jack up its taste to another level without being unpleasant like most spelt beers do. Only the strong sweetness tilts its balance off a bit. Otherwise this is a good one to enjoy with friends!

Molto carbonata.

labeerinthum (1248) - Milano, ITALY - NOV 15, 2015
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2015 Bottiglia @ Simei 2015, Milano.

Molto carbonata, corpo leggero.

750 ml bottle shared by Wiosna, thanks!
Pale orange, hazy body, with a medium, frothy, white head.
Aroma of spices, banana, dried fruits, some barnyard, vanilla.
Tastes of spices, wheat, banana, orange, some vanilla.
Light, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes spicy, wheaty, yeasty, fruity.

Good. Nothing special overall, a typical Wit, but easy and refreshing. Enjoyed the nose more than the taste though.
