COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A barley wine brewed in the English style. Struis is a full-bodied beer with a deep, dark colour and a soft, long-lasting head. The aroma is dark and sweet, with clear tones of chocolate and dried fruit. The aftertaste is dry and long-lasting, and leaves you yearning for more. A delicious accompaniment to food and ideal with skeapsrond cheese. Struis is only available as a bottled beer.

Old rating from 2010. Sticky sweetish caramel, wood, dark fruits. Sticky sugary aftertaste.

AssKicker (631) - Strasbourg, FRANCE - OCT 5, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2017 Couleur brune/rouille.

W aromacie rodzynki, figi, suszone śliwki, czekolada o dziwo. W smaku suszone ciemne owoce, palone słody. Na finiszu wyłazi taka dziwna przyprawowość. Jeszcze jakieś drożdże i alko po troszku.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2017 Nice pour and what a delightful beer! Warm tones of caramel and plum, combined with slices; its a perfect beer for an autumn afternoon.

0.33 l bottle @ home, from Beerlovers, Vienna. My first encounter with the style, so it’s a hundred percent subjective review. Pours deep brown with persistent, beige head. Nose is fruits, chocolate, malty-grainy with hints of honey. Sweet in taste, with hints of chocolate, fruits and grains. Finishes with long lasting, warming sweetness. I quite liked it.

From a bottle at home. Brown color. Foam is thin after a little while. Aroma fine, smell some chocolate, full body. Long finish. Nice beer for autumn.
