Bottle @ Joes shared by Countbeer. Opaque black color, small to average sized beige head. Aroma and flavor both have malts, coffee lightly, bourbon / liquor, some raspberries. Decent body and carbonation. Bit too firm on the raspberries in the end. GenDV138 (7962) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - MAY 31, 2016
4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey during the SAVOR Week 4 Hands / Against The Grain tap takeover. Black with tan head. Aromas of big roasted, coffee, dark chocolate, toasty notes. Tastes of dark chocolate, light licorice, roasty notes, coffee, dark fruit. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Berries are pretty subtle. Still quite tasty though! koleminer20 (4261) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 14, 2015
From notes. On tap at Bell’s Funvitational on September 12. The pour is a little thin. It’s a light black with a collar of light tan head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is really jammy. Lots of raspberry. There is a good toasty oak and a little malt beyond that. The flavor is really fruity up front with a lot of malt. Then a syrup comes in and it’s very medicinal. There is a fruit-induced bitterness that I’m not okay with. A little chocolate is also present. The barrel vanishes and the mouth feel is something else. It’s thick and syrupy, but falls off of the tongue. It could be so much better. The aftertaste is really bitter and syrupy. I’m not a fan. njager246 (699) - grand rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 14, 2015

On tap: The aroma consists of big chocolate, grape, cherry, and light molasses. It’s a dark brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate, grape, and cherry. The finish has light roasted malt and grape candy. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. ebone1988 (2292) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - SEP 12, 2015
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2015 Sample at Funvitational. Aroma is raspberry, bourbon barrel, lactose, sweet malt, milk chocolate. Appearance is black, light brown head, thin. Taste is raspberry bomb, with barrel and milk lactose, syrup. Mouthfeel is a touch thin, but a good carbonation. Overall, I dig. vtafro (7453) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - AUG 27, 2015

Sepia with thin cream ring, med bubbles. Light oat and moderate booze in nose, considerable oak. Good balance in flavor, soft raspberry cutting thin oak booze front palate, more oak and vanilla mid, very dry and soft through sticky, full bodied finish. Would appreciate more bitterness, more hop, overall still sweet and overly barrel heavy, but definitely balanced sweetness.
