Thanks Jay for sharing the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing coffee brown rims with a dark center and latte foam coloured lacing. The nose shows moderately intense notes of molasses, vanilla, and bourbon. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated with a light alcoholic spiciness. Lightly sweet with a light alcoholic spiciness, equally vanilla and bourbon forward.

Bottle @ tasting shared by Joes. Opaque black color, average sized brown colored head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is malts, heavy vanilla and milk chocolate. Taste malts, bourbon, milk chocolate, vanilla, soft underlying roast, sweetish and bitter simultaneously. Quite awesome!

Shared bomber poured to a fest sampler showing a black/brown hue, with some brownish tan froth, and foamy dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was roasted, woody, light smoke, a bit of freezer burn, cocoa, and expressive vanilla. Full bodied, with low carbonation, the taste was similar, with a syrupy texture, bourbon & warmth, and modest roasted & earthy bitterness. Robust, and sips well.

Sampler at the bridge tap house. Pours black with no head. Doesn’t leave much lacing on the glass. Big vanilla and bourbon on the nose. There’s some lactose on tongue which plays well with the vanilla. Hides it’s booze well. Finished clean.

From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting at Abu’s house on February 22. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a medium to light black with a thinner light tan head that fades to a thin ring with no lace. The aroma is really good. There is a strong vanilla sweetness up front that slowly moves toward more of a vanilla bean bitterness on the back end. There is a light oak, some light roasted malts and a hint of cocoa. It’s really well balanced, and I like the differentiation between sweet extract and bitter bean. The flavor is definitely more on the bitter side, but everything is just light. There isn’t a strong barrel, vanilla sway, roasted malt, or chocolate like you would expect. The mouth feel is lighter and a little under carbonated. There is a lack of strong flavors, but the bitter bean definitely pops up again. This is a good beer, but the potential is there for this one to be fantastic!

Draft sampler at EBF. Poured a real good looking thick full oily pitch black body with an average to larger thick foamy mocha colored head. Aroma is great, vanilla beans, burnt chocolate, rum cake, booze. Flavor isn’t quite as good, burnt cake, vanilla extract, burmt toast, and old coffee. Bigger body with strong carbonation.

Bottle pours very dark brown with minimal head. Aroma vanilla, dark chocolate. Palate a bit on the thin side and undercarbed. Taste dark chocolate and somewhat bitter vanilla, a little coconut and oak. Not much bourbon at all. Finish mild dark chocolate. Underwhelmed given the hype.

Shared bottle at Aaron’s. Big ass vanilla mixed with chocolate and bourbon and creamy body. Nice.
