UPDATED: OCT 17, 2017 On draft at Pi Kirkwood. Aroma 6 /10:, Faint bready floral notes Appearance 3 /5: medium amber with frothy head that leaves lacing on the glass Palate 4 /5: medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet malt finish Taste 7 /10: bitter grassy and floral hop flavors initially, mellow out with a slightly sweet malt aftertaste Overall 14/20: predictable ipa flavors. This doesn't mean it's bad, but also doesn't mean it's great. I do like that it is specially brewed for Pi, though - a beer that's hard to get always tastes just a little better, right? Final: 3.4

On tap at Pi Pizzeria Bethesda. Nice golden body with white head. Nose of hops, flora, spices. Taste toasty, floral and citrus and grapefruit. Good stuff.

I got this at Pi Pizza. Pours copper with a white head. Taste pine, caramel, lightly sweet. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Pi Pizzeria. Nice amber pour with a dense khaki head. Bright floral, herbal, and citrus peel hops. Intense toast and bread as well. Some caramel, pine, and grapefruit rind. Good bitterness to the flavor. Tons of pine, grapefruit, and orange peel. Really good floral quality to it as well; quite aromatic. Solid malty base of bread, caramel, and toasted biscuits. Well done.

Pours a deep golden with a nice foamy white head. Aroma is slightly grapefruity yet pleasant. Taste is bitter at first but finishes nice and smooth. Man, this is a good pale ale. Too bad this is only at PI’s Pizzeria in St. Louis. I’d drink this all day.

Rating #3200 - nice to have a milestone from a local favorite. Pours fairly clear golden / orange with a white head. The aroma has light funky hops, green onions, sweet malt, some toast, caramel and cellar must. It has a medium smooth body with a light amount of prickly carbonation. The flavor starts with some toast, crackers, spice pine and citrus zest. The finish has lots of dry grapefruit. Really nice APA here.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2014 Tasted on tap at the brewpub as part of a sampler flight. It was labelled as Pi Citra Ale. It poured a clear golden colour with weak white head. A nice, true-to-style American Pale Ale with additional tropical and melon aromas. Some off, vegetal, tomato plant notes from the hops, not exactly pleasant. Malty sweet, medium body and carbonation, tangy aftertaste. Not great but probably fine with pizza, which was the aim.
