Bomber from Pinocchio’s, Media. Really nice pour, though at times the carbonation was unruly. Fluffy light orange with just the faintest haze. Nose was lightly fruity, mellow, with only hints of spice. Mouthfeel not quite as active as feared, but just shy of too much. Flavors are generally fairly muted, overall quite dry but too little of the fruit and spice come through. Light, refreshing, but fades fast in both flavor and memory. Enjoyed a draft at Basso’s in St Louis. A very solid effort by 4 Hand brewery. While saissons are not for everyone, those who like saissons will enjoy this. Much better than its class ranking. nimbleprop (8708) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 25, 2013

Bottle shared by noodleuser. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a medium fizzy white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, biscuit malt and fruity esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness with supporting malt and fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Travlr (25749) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 20, 2013

22 oz bottle. Hazy orange brown with a white head. Nose is yeast and light citrus peel. Medium light with foamy carb. Taste is yeast, lime and green pepper with hints of pear. Underwhelming but decent. MrBunn (2843) - The Wet Side of a Dry Town, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 13, 2013
Bomber. Pyrus pours a hazy light straw color with a massive head and aromas of honey, pears, grass/hayfield and maybe white grape juice. Flavor is sweet and sharp, with an almost boozy edge to it that I often find in French versions of the Saison genre. Even at 6% there is a little warmth, but more than that an alcoholic sharpness that doesn’t sit quite right. It seems to abate a bit as the beer warms though and the honey/pear sweetness comes through much cleaner. Not my favorite, but decent enough. Oddly, I don’t pick up on either the orange zest or the pepper...
